Tacos El Gordo — Restaurant in San Diego

THIS IS NOT WHAT YOURE LOOKING FOR A few of my friends told me to try "Tacos El Gordo" because of they had the best authentic tacos in Cali. I proceeded to type it in my GPS to the nearest location and brought me to this location. Foolishly thinking that this busted shack was going to serve me something that would make up for its appearance, I ordered my food. It. Was. Gross. The Carne Asda fries didn't even use steak, but some kind of chuck roast. The guacamole was green tasteless water and the fries were still cold, despite her just making them. The chicken quesadilla was essentially something you make when you're hammered and looking for something to eat. Even the salsa sucked. The red sauce was just Tapitio. Avoid Tacos Al Gordo at all costs! I was super hungry for a carne asada burrito on my bike ride this morning, and pedalled by Tacos Al Gordo. It's right on the beach boardwalk, so I thought it must be good. I couldn't have been more wrong. It was pricier than most of the other Roberto's style taco shops, coming in at $12. I tossed it in my bike panier to eat a mile down at the park. Sadly, I should have had it right at the taco stand, so I could have complained. It was just a LOT of rice, a few beans, some cheese, and about two tablespoons of ground meat, NOT carne asada. None of these things should be in a carne asada burrito! Went here for the first time, heard it was very popular and a must try spot. Upon entering it was a good clean environment for the exception of the sloppy cooks. I was told in line by locals to stay away from the buche and lengua but that peaked my interest and I tried all of the meats, all I have to say about the price is I felt like I got scammed since when can you charge 6 dollars a taco for buche and lengua but this place shouldn't be charging that, also they were small street tacos that you can eat in a bite. Super disappointed the tacos where just greasy and not full at all with meat. Would never come back I'm sorry for leaving such a nasty review but you guys can do a lot better with the customer...
