The food at Teos is an absolute pleasure.
Listen, this is one of the most amazingly weird experiences I've ever had. We pulled up to Teos, not knowing what it was. We thought it's a diner. We found it on Google maps. To our surprise, we were carded at the entrance. We walk in to what is an empty, and pretty dingy dive bar. We ask if this is "Teos". They say yes, and direct us to the back. There is a tiny little hole in the wall kitchen. It's casy only. We are skeptical. We ask "what's good". The kind lady replied "shrimp ravioli". I'm more skeptical. We order the shrimp ravioli, veggie quesadillas, ceviche, and house salad. We walk upstairs, and to our pleasant surprise the rooftop patio is lovely and the atmosphere is vibrant. We wait patiently to get the food. What came out of that kitchen was a revelation of flavor. The tortilla chips were hands down the best I've ever had in my life. It was mind blowing. The shrimp ravioli with the perfect sauce and sun dried tomatoes were exceptional. We were flabbergasted. This place is a must. Its a weird vortex of culinary excellence in the middle of a run-of-the-mill dive bar. Apparently the guy that runs it was a chef in La Jolla for 20 years. Trust me, you want to try this place out....
Read moreThe food was fantastic at this local window service style eatery. We had the quesadilla and fish wrap. Large portions, the fries were fried and seasoned amazingly.
As other have said this place is inside in the back of the bar. I was greeted by a lady who was friendly, answered questions I had about the menu, made the food, and brought it to me in the bar where I waited. We took it to go. The whole thing took about 10 minutes or less. We were there in an off time during the week so the bar was practically empty.
Don't let the look or location fool you. Walk over and check this place out. I would eat here...
Read moreLoved everything about this place. We obviously weren't the only people coming 'through the looking glass' of the front door into what I expected to have be a food place. I wasn't sure about the dark dive-y bar on a sunny Sunday afternoon. But the upstairs is an amazing sunny rooftop space that had a terrific playlist.
The food was top notch - we had a carne asada wet burrito and a stuffed avocado salad. Both earned 'clean plate club' status.
Terrific place to drop in, especially if you're cruising around on bike...
