Best food in the gaslamp district. I'm not an expert in Lebanese food but do know I love everything I've had here. The menu on their website has very nice photos of each item which is helpful. So many places in that neighborhood seem to put so much energy into atmosphere and gimics to get you in the door but none I've tried over the years have wowed me like the quality of food at Yalla Habibi. Favorites: gyro sandwich (warm soft wrap), chicken shish tawook plate (wonderful marinated chicken medallions. Chicken shawarma is good but this is even better), cheese pie appetizer (almost isn't fair how delciouus this is. Large fried, I suppose "sticks" filled with white cheese blended with herbs), many nice fresh salads, and quite possibly the finest made in house hummus I've ever had served with nice warm pita of course. All plates are served with their delicious rice as well. Looking forward to trying more especially the batata harra (spicy garlic potatoes). A bonus about this place is they're open until 330am on weekends. It's so rare to find a late night after the bars close place with food this high quality. This place is our household's current obsession. So get down there! Or have it delivered in Uber Eats or other...
Read moreSatisfying home cooked Lebanese cooking! I’ve tried a lot of places so I can happily say this place is now one of my favorites. No frills, no upscale pretentious vibes, just good ol’ delicious food served quickly. Looks like it was ran by 2 guys, one cooking and one taking orders. It’s a smaller joint that has capacity for maybe up to 18 diners. Intimate setting, simple set up but ridiculously delicious and genuine food. Their lentil soup is something I dream about occasionally. I ordered the chicken tawook bowl since I wasn’t that hungry and it HIT THE SPOT. Hummus was spot on, too. I’m excited for when I go downtown again so I can indulge and try something else on the menu. Everything I got I thoroughly enjoyed. Even the tea! If you’re looking for a simple yet delicious and flavorful meal, make sure you stop by here. I’m so happy they’re in my city! NOTE: if you like spice, make sure to ask for their signature spicy sauce on the side....
