Vin de Syrah is one of San Diego's almost best kept secrets. Secret because you had to find the entrance to the Wonderland . I was referred to this famous San Diego haunt by my front desk agent at "The Grand Colonial Hotel" in la Jolla @ "The Grand Colonial Hotel".I told him I wanted something different unique and full of action and it was just that & more. The bartenders were friendly witty and attentive. we all know that Alice finds an edible that says eat me and finds a concoction that says drink me .To stay in theme, I wore a black and white polka dotted outfit. I brought an apple and I put the words eat me next to it. Well the guy next to me ate it. My bartender makes a concoction and place the words" drink me" next to it. The drink was called "The Viceroy". It was a refreshing drink of vodka served and infused with a very thinly sliced cucumber the drink was nothing short of refreshing yet mesmerizing. My taste buds we're dancing in my mouth and I was ready to enjoy the evening. I included pictures of my evening. You will see the very unique & Chic decor I took a picture with the band during a Thursday's live music night.

HARD TO FIND... gave it 3 stars for theme and beauty... I really wanted to love this place, I love wine bars and I love Alice in Wonderland. I thought it would be a grand slam. I went here to take a sip and paint class. Place is beautiful, has awesome seating spaces but there are no waiters. You have to order at the bar and sit yourself, each drink was around 18-20Dlls each, the bartender was nice but she took a long time to prepare even though the place was dead, only 1 person seated at the bar and no other customers except for the people painting their canvases. They offer charcuterie boards but there are no hot food options. Owners: please save this place, it needs a bigger sign otside pointing down the stairs, you need to offer more food options or at least salads and panninis or better appetizers... wine and whisky selection was impressive but a little more is needed.

I absolutely LOVE Vin de Syrah. Whether you're going out to dinner, drinks, or dancing, it's the best spot. The wine selection is fantastic as well as the appetizers & food to complement it. Even if you're not into wine, they offer a variety of unique cocktails as well. We personally went for a girls' night out getting wine and ended up staying until midnight dancing the night away! Around 10 is when the DJ starts setting up, so keep that in mind if you're going for a quieter, more intimate night. Fantastic service and beautiful ambiance. It's one of my favorite spots in san diego and is a total gem. They also offer private tastings, which is next on my list! Whether you're local or visiting, Vin de Syrah is a must!

If I can leave zero stars I would This bars says they rented out to bar tenders weekend we payed $75.00 to enter the event and when my family and I got their they didn’t even let us in the event we drove all the way from Reno na And spent all kinds of money for this event the gas prices alone being 6 dollars a gallon going from Reno na to San Diego cost us a fourtune just to get to the event so they could tell us where not allowed to enter Because they say their weren’t in charge of the event And when we ask them if we can enter the building to speck with Someone they wouldn’t allow it they where very rude we even ask if they can have someone who’s in charge of the event to cime out to speck whit us they won’t do it they where very rude and didn’t want to help us at all

And then another costumer came whit out a ticket Right in front of me and the bouncer called the manager and they let him in and he didn’t even have a ticket to enter the event so they like to pick and choose who they let in they don’t care about their costumers who drive almost 1000 miles to attend the event and payed for tickets

And then I ask for refund they refused to give me any refund their manager lady was very hostile and she was very rude and look like she’s on some sort of drugs she has enough decency to call my family and I and I and argue with us and harass us we wanted to put this behind us and she keeps calling us to remind us and giving up more mental destress

We really thought we was going to have a good time but their employees where so rude and made it impossible the security gard acts like he owns the place has no heart at all he seen me cry and he wouldn’t even call a manager out to speck with Someone and kept on ignoring me and my sister is handy cap she’s over 400 pounds and they wouldn’t let her sit down on a chair after they made her stand up in line over 1 hour

This Is not a friendly place what so ever very bad employees they have working here they have no respect I would never go back here...

Ohhh!!! I adore Vin de Syrah. I've been a fan and regular since right after they opened the doors (I believe it's been) 10 years ago. Let's start with the entryway which is a descending staircase that constantly sporting some great mural. Once inside the down the rabbit hole theme is on point. It is a perfect mix of masculine and feminine touches. A couple of my favourite things is the ever-changing light fixtures over the bar and the long natural wood table in the center of the bar where the wine tastings are done each weekend. (Definitely make a reservation and get yourself to a tasting one Friday or Saturday. It will be the highlight of your weekend.) The bar. Syrah has a full bar not just beer and wine which makes it the best wine bar ever! The bar staff are all excellent at coming up with something or knowing how to expertly make what you request. Food. Syrah is not a restaurant but does have some fantastic munchies by way of paninis, salads, and the most delicious chacuterie boards in the city. During the week, the venue tends to be a bit more casual unless there is an event. If you are looking to get fancy then don your best glad-rags and stop in on a Friday or Saturday night. Friday nights are my fave because that is usually when the Ladies of Rouge perform. They are a phenomenal burlesque group that perform around the city. There is always a headlining DJ on the weekend as well perfect for shaking the tush and getting in some good cardio. Finally the staff...they are friggin'...

THIEVES WORK HERE!!!

It was my boyfriend and I bday weekend, we planned a long trip in various parts if CA. with San Diego being our last stop. We were staying at the hotel above Vin De Syrah and was told guest of the hotel have VPI entry. So, after dinner and hitting up a few bars we decided to visit this place since it was literally downstairs. We showed our room key and bypassed the line of people outside. However, as soon as we got to the bar we encountered a rude and cocky bartender. He our order and began to make another guest order. After he checked out first patron he began to ask other patrons their drink order, while we are just standing there waiting... Another bartender asked for our order and i related the bad service, he had to make the guy stop taking others orders and make ours. Turns out to be $23 for house vodka and house tequila.. I don't tip bad service. Went to the dance floor, and they had an amazing sax player that we enjoyed. I went to the bathroom to freshen up and brush my hair, but left my brush up in the room. I asked the attendant if she had a brush. She let me use a comb, I placed my purse/phone down to search for cash. I didn't have any so I went out to get a few bucks from my bf. come back in and give her cash. Not a whole 5 mins pass and I determined I left my phone in the bathroom, returned and it was already gone and turned off. I suspect the low-life Hispanic bathroom attendant! There are thieves that work...
