I was blown away by how bad these philly cheesesteaks taste. Just wow. Factor in the price? So I'm in town helping my aunt who is in hospice for cancer. I really needed a break and wanted a treat. I read reviews and once again, local reviews let me down. Why do people here have such bad taste? $50 for 3 subs and onion rings. Fine, if it's fantastic food. Tasted drier than death valley. Miniscule meat. Miniscule cheese. Dry dry bread. I bought one for the nurse and she didn't like it either. The onion rings were okay. Not great just edible. They also have that annoying "HOW MUCH DO YOU WANT TO TIP!" checkout screen when going to pick up food. Maybe... that's why my sandwiches were so sad? Because I only tip (and tip well) for waiters, drivers, etc? (I gave no tip) On the plus the place was nice, clean, in a nice area, and the employees seemed super cool, aside from making a bad sandwich, possibly because I didn't tip for pickup. 2 stars for that. Zero for everything else from the food to the price to the pressuring you to tip for pickup thing. I expect more from highly rated San Dimas food. I'm 0-2 now and will no longer trust reviews. Time to head to Giovanni's in Fullerton, at least I know that place...
Read moreI makes me very sad that I have to write this review since I loved eating here. Started eating when they were still in Pasadena area. Sticking with the stay at home order, I ordered from DoorDash and get my food no problem. I noticed that my cheesesteak sandwich is not double meat like I ordered and paid for. My husband and I call the restaurant, to get the issue fixed. Management explains he made it himself. My sandwich is double meat, this is not the first time we have made this order. We get the same thing every time. I know it is not. The manager then explains he cut two 6 oz steaks, ok I explained I'll weight it. Which I do and call the restaurant again. My entire sandwich is just under 12oz with grilled onions, cheese and bread. Where my husband's double meat is over 22 oz. The managements response was "how do I know what your using to weight it?" After explaining we used a food scale. He loundly replies to take it up with DoorDash.
I am shocked about the response and their customer service at this...
Read moreHonestly, I've been in Philly & eaten MANY cheesesteaks (wit' wiz, no wiz, peppersteak...name it), & although these aren't quite the same as those in Philly, I find myself craving Philly's Best cheesesteaks in an obsessive, adoring way that I've NEVER craved those in Philadelphia. These are yummy. Seriously yummy. I've tasted the whole menu over time & it's all good, but my ideal is the cheesesteak, wit' wiz, grilled onions, no peppers. I'll start craving one of these (or two - they're small-ish (so am I, so...)) & if I don't give-in, I'll just keep craving them more & more & MORE until I finally go get 'em. I've seriously craved these for days on end. If you want a "real" Philly 'steak, catch a flight & stop complaining about the 'steaks here - you'll never be satisfied cuz' YOU'RE NOT IN PHILADELPHIA (duh). If you just want something seriously, indulgently, addictively tasty, go to...
