0 stars and here's why
2 weeks in advance I make reservations so there should be plenty of open seats
I get an email back with a form. They want 50 dollars in advance to hold the table and say if you want to see the drag show to show up at 11 because the drag show starts at 12
We get there early and are thrown out for walking around so wait outside
So about 20 of us are standing around in a line, waiting for them to open
After 20 minutes of standing I say hey I'm going to sit down over here because I feel dizzy
The hostess says we'll I need to seat you
We'll I didn't really ask if I could sit down. I'm telling you I'm going to sit down here.
There's nobody here. All tables are empty because it's 11:20 and all your customers are standing outside
11:25 and they're ready to open and the waitress, manager, idk makes a b-line for me cutting me off from entering the dining area so I'm still right near the entrance and says what kind of drink do I need?
What I say? A she moves in closer and says yeah what kind of drink am I getting you.
Now she's staring in my eyes to see if they're diolated and smelling me for alcohol
I said since it's 11 am I drink coffee and I stare back at her so she can see my eyes are clear and not on drugs.
She seems disappointed she didn't have a reason to throw me out
Then says because of #baytobreakers we're running a little late she says
I don't know what that has to do with making your customers stand outside for 20 minutes and you said to get the reservation, you were really need to be here at 11 because the drag show starts at 12
Ordering is quick!
The bus boy who speaks no English brings out 4 of the 5 plates
10 minutes later after the guy with no food goes out for a smoke break comes back and no food. He goes looking for waitress but can't find her
His food shows up and I guess it's good since they're eating it. It looks appealing.
11:50 we're done with breakfast and sound guys are putting speakers together and on our left is deep bass speakers boom and on our right the opposite high notes only. Then the guy on stage has a mic and is saying mic check! Mic check! Test test, 20 times test test
Dude, I don't want to hear this
11:58 no waitress to bring check
In 2 minutes the drag show starts while they're still putting the speakers together, so you better not be late
I didn't order anything except coffee so didn't stay around to wait for the bill
I was going to leave a 5 as a tip under the water glass to not be rude then realized it was empty. Water is self service only it seems so didn't leave the 5
The thing is, I can show up at 620 Jones any time. It's 3 blocks from where I live.
The whole point is to see the drag show that starts at 12 which is what the out of town guests wanted to see.
They couldn't decide on Midnight Sun or 620 Jones for a drag show brunch in San Francisco and MS charges a cover.
My recommendation for drag show brunch in San Francisco is to pay the cover and go to the...
Read moreI went here yesterday with 5 friends for the drag brunch, and while the performers were amazing and absolutely the highlight of the morning, my food and service were an absolute disaster.
I ordered the smash burger, and what I was served was essentially raw in parts and inedible. My first bite seemed fine, but the second and third tasted off and when I tore it open, the patty was pink and undercooked in some spots, gray in others. Minutes later, I was so nauseous I had to leave the table to go throw up in the bathroom.
While I was gone, my friends spoke to the server and explained what happened. Instead of showing concern, she got defensive and claimed she’d “ask the cook.” When I came back, still visibly sick and shaken, she came right up in my face and asked if I wanted something else from the menu. I said no, and explained that I had literally just thrown up. Her response? A dismissive, “Well, I don’t know what you want, that’s how we cook our burgers here—do you want a club soda or something?” No apology. No accountability. Nothing but attitude.
To make matters worse, one of my friends overheard her talking badly about us to other staff, accusing us of just trying to get a free burger. Really?? We had a big tab, tipped the queens generously during the show, and were fully prepared to pay for everything we ordered. The issue wasn’t money—it was that I was served unsafe food and then treated horribly when I got sick.
When it came time to pay, the server dragged her feet bringing the bill, then snatched my friend’s card right out of his hand without saying a word. The receipt had a 20% automatic gratuity added (standard for large groups, but in this case totally undeserved), AND they even tacked on a charge for “bread and butter” that we never ordered or received. At that point, we were all so over it that we just paid and left.
What should have been a fun Sunday brunch turned into a humiliating and upsetting experience. Between being served raw food, getting physically sick, and then being openly disrespected and gossiped about by the server, this was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.
The performers deserve all the love in the world, but the restaurant staff and management should be ashamed of how this was handled. I will never be coming back, and I strongly recommend others think twice before...
Read moreWe went to 620 Jones for Sunday drag brunch which we were very excited about and looked forward to the food, drinks, and show. Over the course of a few hours we ordered 3 single mimosa pitchers. When the bill arrived, we had been charged for 1 single pitcher and 2 double pitchers. We informed our waitress that this must be a mistake because we never ordered double pitchers. She informs us that regardless of if we ordered it or not, we drank it so we had to pay for it. We did drink the 3 pitchers we ordered, but to our knowledge they were all singles. I believe they were trying to scam us into paying extra. During the conversation with the manager he said “you ordered 3 pitchers but drank 5 so you have to pay for them”. How is this ethical? He was aware that we ordered 3 but was trying to put us on the hook for something we never ordered. The pitcher size, color, and taste was the same in all 3 of the pitchers. The waitress that put in our drinks and food order did not come back to our table during this 15 minute ordeal and was smirking at us the entire time. The icing on the cake was when Kim the bar manager came to our table and also rudely demanded that we were responsible for the double mimosas that they gave us. Not ONCE when they delivered the pitchers of mimosas to our table told us what they were, they dropped them off and ran off! It got to a point where we called the police as they were both harassing and confrontational it almost felt like it was going to become a physical altercation we felt threatened and verbally abused by Kim and the male manager. Kim was wildly unprofessional screaming and yelling at us from across the patio “NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN!” After 15 minutes of arguing and a call to the police, Kim agreed to charge us for the 3 single pitchers. We paid for every item we consumed and it’s baffling that Kim thinks we would ever want to return after being treated this way! The employees mentioned need de-escalation training and customer service retraining pronto!
I have a photo from a video I took during the drag show of our server and the male manager who escalated this situation. I also have a voice recording from our table of the incident that took place and I would be happy to share with...
