I really didnโt want to rate the service a 3 โ honestly, the first time I came, it easily felt like a 4 or even 5. That visit was amazing. We were looked after so well, I genuinely left thinking, โYep, Iโm bringing people back here.โ
So I did. But second time around? Totally different vibe.
The host seemed stressed or maybe just not in the mood, but whatever it was, she took it out on everyone waiting outside. Super rude, like snarky-sarcastic, yelling that the line needed to be along the side of the building โ but in a way that felt really unnecessary and aggressive. No โhi,โ no warmth โ just full energy like we were a problem.
Out of the 15 or so people waiting, 12 left after that โ and one even said, โThat was unnecessarily rude โ youโre definitely not getting my money.โ Honestly, I was about to walk too, but my two friends didnโt hear her comment, so I just bit my tongue and stayed.
Once we were seated, the energy didnโt really improve. The service felt rushed and cold โ like they were just trying to move us in and out. No real attention or care, which was disappointing after how lovely it had been before.
Now, the one bright light: the guy bringing food from the kitchen was absolutely lovely. Super warm, kind โ like he had no clue the front-of-house was giving everyone attitude. Bless him, he deserves a raise.
Anyway, the food? Still great. Fast, tasty, and exactly what youโd want. But hereโs the thing โ just because youโve built a strong following doesnโt mean you can drop the ball on hospitality. That energy trickles down. People feel it. And it matters.
Will I go back? Yeah, probably โ the foodโs good enough. But will I be racing to recommend it? Nah. Not anymore. One bad taste can linger. Maybe itโll change the...
ย ย ย Read moreWaited 10 mins outside in the freezing cold to be seated and no one bothered to come check on me. Looked inside. Open table. No response. Went inside asking if I need to be seated to order takeouts? Asian host said no. Asked if I could take my order here. She said yes. I told her about my food allergies and can they sub out the potatoes and anything cooked with olive oil? She said no. I asked if I could sub for a croissant instead of an English muffin. She said No. I paid $22 for a smoked salmon sandwich muffin. I asked if I can wait inside for my takeout? She said No. She told me to go back outside waiting in the freezing cold. As I was waiting (20 mins) in the freezing cold for a smoked salmon sandwich, I've seen at least 30 people ignored that 'waited to be seated sign' outside and went in and got seated immediately. There was a group of elderly African Americans women's that got told to wait outside with me. We watched a group of white people went straight inside and got seated. I recommended them to go to Honey Honey Cafe and left they did. This place is rude and racist. I don't recommend this place. Go down the street to Honey Honey Cafe. The food is 100x better, the customer service is 100x better and the price is cheaper and the portion size is bigger. They will accommodate your request for free and not look to nickel and dime you. ย ย ย Read moreJust think I had been in the neighborhood for 30 days and was looking for something different. All I had to do was go to the corner and cross the street well yesterdayโs brunch was definitely something to write home about! It was kind of bittersweet because it was the first time being away from home that I had breakfast alone but that quickly changed as well.
I was greeted and seated like I was an old friend my beverage order a peach Bellini and lemon water was promptly taken and received. I settled on the Dungeness Crab omelette with Swiss cheese and asparagus it was amazingly flavorful and delicious; it came with a side of perfectly crisped assorted potatoes and a real tasty side salad with that old familiar rice vinaigrette and a slice of toast. All of those fine flavors jelled so well together I know Iโm going to be riding back over next Sunday for another amazing dish ๐ฏ
I got to tell you when the hostess came over to check on me I had to give my review right then...โ Iโm feel so bad that I am just coming down here and I have to move today my omelette is to die for and this salad makes me feel so at homeโ the customer service and interaction was genuine and appreciated! No salt and pepper or additional condiments necessary flavored to perfection โค๏ธ Woman owned and operated love it! Photos from beginning to end...a member of the clean plate club what can I say...
