I freakin loved this spot! Thanks for moving to the neighborhood! - I measure the quality of a Mexican spot on their Al Pastor and this one you can taste the homade sazón! Twas marinading with care - First orchata in SF w just the right amount of sweet, nutty, and refreshing with a properly filtered consistency - kindest peeps played the musics of my state in Mexico while I was eating, this was just above and beyond - their home made tortillas and salsas are otherworldly Full review : Is new in the neighborhood and me being from Mexico too I chatted up with the lady about where in Mexico the peeps were from, and what they recommended I should order They recommended the carnitas and al pastor tacos, they said they make their tortillas in house by hand, also I mentioned my background from Guadalajara (which will be relevant later) so I ordered one taco of each and asked what kind of aguas frescas they had. The tacos came with thicker yet soft tortilla, you can feel the masa cooked in just the right way The carnitas tasted like something I would have at a family gathering, so tender and juicy, paired so well with the red And green sauces Regarding the al pastor, I measure the quality of a Mexican spot on how good their Al Pastor runs given that is one of the most intricate and personal recipes per stablishment that tends to be made in greater batches (so consistency is key!) and ordered most often (if any Mexican spot u go to does not have Al pastor don’t bother even considering it in the authentic category) and this one you can taste the homade sazón! Twas marinading with care I usually don’t order orchatas bc I hadn’t come across a non-commercial flavored one, yet this one was just the right amount of sweet, nutty, and refreshing with a properly filtered consistency I could drink this at 3 am or in a hot summer day While I was eating the peeps played some of the typical songs of my state Jalisco! (I.e. “El jarabe Tapatío) and some others, the melodies were the right ones but the artistic expression was unique, either in the choice of instruments or the genre-style of the compositions in some kind of variation, I included a screenshot of the songs I Shazamdeddd. This though was extremely above and beyond, the peeps didn’t even have to do anything special like that, yet they closed to. Speaks volumes I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the food bc I ended up ordering the same thing again after I finished my food!! So I took a picture of one of my receipts I really hope you check this spot out it touched my heart in a way food hasn’t done in a while, I have yet to try their breakfast chilaquiles and their specials, heard the tamales were 🔥🔥 Caramba, que ricooo! 🇲🇽🌮

Visited Caramba restaurant for lunch today and it wasn’t too bad. The restaurant is located on 2nd street and is fairly busy during the lunch hour. One of the unique aspects of the restaurant is that orders are placed at the beginning of the counter when you first walk in and if you’re a new customer, it’s a bit confusing because of the placement of the menu board. I ordered a super shrimp burrito on a spinach wrap. “Super” means that it comes with guacamole and sour cream, which is an extra $2.50. The shrimp was freshly grilled, which was nice. Overall, the burrito was pretty good. It wasn’t wrapped tightly but that may be because of the size of the spinach wrap. Each order comes with tortilla chips. Be prepared to pay anywhere from $10.00 - $12.00

Pretty good place for a simple burrito. I had a classic burrito with sauteed chicken, rice, refried beans, and Pico de Gallo. Good, filling portions but a little pricey in my opinion. I paid almost $15 for a single burrito with no chips or drinks or anything else. The fillings were also not very evenly distributed - I did go during a busy lunch so perhaps it was just bad timing, but it would have been nice to get a little of each in every bite. Cute establishment, very classic casual spot. I like the simple decor & there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the register and seat yourself.

Full review : Is new in the neighborhood and me being from Mexico too I chatted up with the lady about where in Mexico the peeps were from, and what they recommended I should order

They recommended the carnitas and al pastor tacos, they said they make their tortillas in house by hand, also I mentioned my background from Guadalajara (which will be relevant later) so I ordered one taco of each and asked what kind of aguas frescas they had.

Caramba is the single greatest breakfast burrito spot I have been to in my entire life. I had a conference in SF and went to Caramba every single morning (5 mornings straight). My entire team which is comprised of people from Seattle, Ohio, San Diego, Walnut Creek, Michigan all loved it. Caramba is universally loved.

Not to mention the sweet lady who works at the front. Very kind and helpful. This place is a hidden gem and I wish everyone could go taste the food. If you are ordering a breakfast burrito, get the bacon and eggs. The bacon is crunchy and the eggs are good. I would recommend adding potatoes, cheese, green salsa, and avocado. 10/10 everytime I’m in SF I will be...
