I had a very poor experience with the customer service of this place.

First of all, the soda costs 3.25, which is the most expensive soda I've had from any restaurant ever. First thing I noticed too was that the carbon needed to be changed.

The first person I talked to, let's call him Raymond. Raymond couldn't quite understand English. Which is fine, whatever. Immigrants make this country great, I'll just talk to the cashier, and she understood me immediately. Cool.

Being someone who worked in the restaurant before, I then heard the distinct sound of the SYRUP being changed in the back. What?

Raymond then comes back, and he presumably notices the soda is still flat. Or not, because he plays it off as if everything is okay. It's not. I'm upset, but I don't want to deal with it anymore.

Then comes the worst part. I come back to the table where my husband is eating a bowl of chowder. And I try some.

I wanted to hate it. I wanted to say it's disgusting and that I wouldn't recommend it to anybody. I suppose I still dont.. but...

The chowder was ok. This is coming from someone who worked at a chowder restaurant in Seattle. The chowder was actually good. I hate it.

Feeling hungry and need a quick pick-me-upper? This chowder will do the trick.

While walking around the pier and looking for something to eat but was very indecisive at the same time. We came to an agreement and decided to just pick the place we see next in our sight. We’ve never had a chowder with a sourdough bread bowl before and gave it a try. Our portion had generous amounts of clams, and other ingredients. For me, the only chowder I had in the past was from Chunky Soup so my palate for this was like either canned or homemade. So in that case it tasted way better than the canned stuff I had. But if you are a soup connoisseur then you might think differently. But this portion was really enough for the two of us at lunch. Great customer service we got and the staff was friendly and patient with us as we asked questions on which was better and their favourite.

Thanks for reading if you...

I heard the Clam Chowder in San Francisco was pretty good and this place was near the top of the list. It's fast, easy to order. You literally get the chowder right after ordering. They were really nice and let us sit 8 people in there while it was pretty busy.

The vibe is pretty nice. It has a great view of the water. Some outdoor seating. Too bad it had rained the day we went or else we would have sat outside. The staff was super friendly as well, really helpful.

The chowder was excellent as well. I mean it was chowder. It tasted like all the others i've had. But i devoured it. I mean the bowl and everything. I would highly recommend checking this place out when in the area. it's right in a touristy area, pretty affordable and really easy to walk in, eat and go...

My wife and I ordered the clam chowder in the sourdough bowl and the crab melt. It was evident that the clam chowder served in the sourdough bowl was their specialty and it was absolutely delicious. However, the crab melt was a letdown. The crab melt tasted more like crawfish and was bland. Stick with the clam chowder in the sourdough bowl; it's really, really good and worth a try. Pros: -Delicious clam chowder served in a sourdough bowl, their specialty. -Authentic taste of clam chowder, indicative of the restaurant's expertise. Cons: -Disappointing crab melt; lacked flavor and tasted more like crawfish. -Falls short compared to the exceptional clam chowder option.
