We were seated in a completely empty section of the restaurant and immediately informed that we had only one hour to dine, as the space was supposedly fully booked for later reservations. Respecting that, we placed our order within five minutes of being seated. However, as we waited, we noticed the section rapidly began to fill with other groups. Tables of two, four, six, even up to twelve were seated after us.
Despite ordering early, our table received no silverware and was largely ignored by the staff. Other parties who arrived later were promptly served drinks, appetizers, and entrees, while we continued to wait with no updates or acknowledgment. When our food finally arrived, nearly every other table in the section had already been served multiple courses. For a group of only four, the delay and lack of attention were especially noticeable.
What was confusing and concerning was that several tables remained open throughout our visit, directly contradicting the urgency placed on us when we were told we had to leave within the hour. We could not ignore the fact that we were the only people of color in the room. It made us question whether we were being treated differently. The experience left us wondering if we were even welcome.
To make matters worse, when it came time to pay, our server, who we saw only twice during the entire meal, stood over the shoulder of the person paying. This created an uncomfortable and unnecessary pressure. Given the poor service, this added a layer of disrespect that was hard to ignore.
The food was underwhelming, the service was inattentive, and the overall experience left a lasting impression for all the wrong reasons. Despite being told we had only an hour, we stayed for ninety minutes and still saw tables available. It became very clear that we were not...
Read moreHighly recommended Mexican restaurant with an upscale setting, fresh delicious dishes, and amazing cocktails. Probably the best Mexican restaurant in Northern California’s Bay Area.
The ambiance is incredible with authentic Mexican decor spread throughout. There are even little fans oscillating from the ceilings. Latin reggaeton playing from well placed speakers and only at a volume that adds to the experience but if you don’t like loud music I wouldn’t advise sitting at the bar. The music a little too loud if you’re coming to have a conversation - if sitting near the bar.
They have so much seating and each area is different, it’s almost like being in a different restaurant each time. There is bar seating, outdoor heated seating, sidewalk observatory seating, back room seating with a dedicated minibar, and traditional indoor seating. You can be safely distanced from others if you’d like. Dog friendly outside seating.
The food is excellent here and most is similar to a small plate tapas restaurant except Mexican plates. The food quality is unmatched and so authentic that I couldn’t even imagine making it at home. Chips so fresh you can still see the oil glistening off their edges. The guacamole was out of this world and the chorizo flautas were some of the best food I’ve ever had. Words don’t do this food any justice. It’s just amazing - each and every plate that comes across your table.
Parking can be difficult here but if you drink around enough and are willing to walk a few blocks, you should find some paid parking at $3.50 an hour. This is located in a busy San Francisco area with a ton of restaurants and shops nearby.
Overall, an excellent Mexican restaurant and possibly the best in drivable distance of...

Came here on a Sunday evening with a group of six. Unfortunately the place was closing early for a holiday party but we were able to sit and quickly order some food to share before they shut down the kitchen.
Sopes de Frijol - 2 stars. Lightly fried masa dumplings topped with refried black beans, hearts of palm, cheese, and avocado. While the topping were fine, the dumpling itself was rock hard and impossible to cut into. I found the flavors lacking.
Enchiladas de Tinga - 4 stars. Tomato-poached chicken in a house blue corn tortilla, topped with salsa verde, avocado, lettuce, crema and and queso fresco. Everything you expect from an enchilada, rich sauce, hearty flavors, tender meat.
Res con Chile Colorado - 5 stars. Chile braised beef shortribs, served with cilantro rice. Super fatty and tender meat, full of subtle flavor. I don't eat rice, but I could just eat piles of the shortribs.
Pok Chuc - 5 stars. Lime and cilantro marinated grilled pork. Served with tortillas, refried black beans, pickles, and spicy tomatillo sauce. Humongous portion, super fatty and tender pork, perfectly grilled. Nothing overly complicated but incredibly well balanced. Again, I could have eaten this for days.
Esquite - 5 stars. My favorite dish of the evening. Sauteed corn with crema, red onions, tomato, lime, and cotija cheese. Crunchy, flavorful, fresh, delightful. The perfect side dish.
Overall, this was a great first foray into what Flores has to offer. While I found it a bit pricy for what it was, I'd...
