Hotel staff had terrible customer service, other then Pricilla who was training and she was super friendly and helpful. We dealt with three other men who were rude and didn't seem like they wanted to help. So all these guys need to do some training with the new girl on how to SMILE AND BE KIND to your guests - you wouldn't be there without US! One day my key card stopped working and when I went to the front desk the young man acted like it was an inconvenience to replace the card. Even though it took him about 5 seconds to take my old one and slide a new one through the machine to code it! The hotel has medium roast coffee and a single cup percolator (we all know those cheap little cuasinart plastic coffee machines make terrible coffee) in the room with ONE package of coffee. Most people drink a couple cups of coffee, especially if you have more then one person in a room. Also, most people drink dark roast (other hotels I stay at have it or have it at the desk for option to the guests. Besides, if you work in retail grocery - you know dark roast sells out first, so it should be on hand). When I went to the front desk, they seemed like they didn't want to give me another packet so i could have one more cup of coffee - when the nice girl went to give me more coffee and sugar, the guy sitting there barked at her, "you're giving him too many". ... thats not cool. On another occasion, I had asked for an extra packet of coffee, a middle aged man with an accent, gave me two and sighed, then as I left I saw him grab my paperwork and write it down, I'm hoping they aren't planning on billing me for a couple extra cups of coffee!!! ??? ... Lastly, they take a $150 deposit that is Charged to your credit card (not held pending transaction, as other hotels do) and then they give you a credit on your card which can take up to 21 days. So if you are traveling on a budget, take into consideration that you won't have that money to spend while you are in San Francisco! i will not stay at this...
Read moreI booked this hotel (room 116) when my family visited me from out of state. We found BEDBUGS too. When I first arrived at the hotel the manager (Mr. Lee) was very aggressive to me. He couldn't even let me get out of my car, he stood on the doorway and practically interrogated me as if I wasn't supposed to be there. It took me more than 10 minutes to prove to him that I have a booking and that I only needed to get to the front desk to get everything figured out. He finally got out of my way, went into the front office and waited to come confirm my reservation. As a young Blackman, it was clear that he looked down and had no respect for me.
It took me a lot of deep breathes to stay calm and to not call out his micro aggression right at the moment. On the first night my family stayed there, they found at least two bedbugs. When I told Mr. Lee about it, he told me that the bugs may not have been bedbugs. He practically called me a lier. He showed no remorse, he wasn't listening to what I was saying, and he was very aggressive. I am a doctoral student, but this man could not see pass his stereotypes and my appearance as a young Blackman.
When I told my family about my interaction with Mr. Lee, they were amazed at how someone like him could be a manager. We could not wait to leave the hotel, and we will...
Read moreI was torn between a 4 and 5 on this review because, as others have stated, they have the unfortunate problem of being across the street from a very VERY loud OUTDOOR bar that cranks the music until 2am. But being as this isn't really the hotel's fault but their misfortune, I went with a 5 because the owners were so lovely and accommodating. They gave us a room before check-in time, which helped us greatly, as we were concerned about our luggage, and they also allowed us an extra half hour to tour after check out without issue, which they didn't have to do, so we appreciated it.||The room is beautiful and very spacious. We were on the 3rd floor and, had it not been so foggy, we would have had a lovely view of the bridge right from our window, which was unexpected! We saw it peek out once in a while, so that was exciting. I really didn't see the decor as outdated as others have said, and certainly everything was very clean.||The free parking is excellent, the location is great, having the 28 bus stop literally outside the door, AND you can walk just 1/2 mile straight down the road and land at the marina with stunning views of the bridge. The neighborhood felt very safe to walk around. We wouldn't hesitate to...
