I had a beauty makeup session pre-booked (Union St) and was called 15 mins prior to cancel the appt. Which I understand can happen but what I did not like was the callousness with which they treated the cancellation. When I told them that the appt was important to me they did not have one idea on how they could help solve the problem (which was on their end) and asked me to go to another store like Nordstrom if I did not like their response. Customer service disaster.
I did make them call another store and find me another appt something they should have offered to do on their own. Definitely lost one customer but they did not look like they cared.
I am not going to name the staff as this is not about the particular people but the customer philosophy and values i think Sephora stands for which was totally lacking for me today.
Every service business will get into a sticky situation with a customer, it’s how you treat the customer at that point that truly shows how good you are at customer service. Today that did not happen. I was made to feel small when I asked for a service or an alternate I was booked to receive and one I was depending...
Read moreI went to this Sephora location and asked for help to find the lancome concealer in a certain shade. The employee was super helpful and found the shade and handed it to me. I went home and realized it was the wrong prouduct and they actually handed me the lancome foundation stick. A couple months later I went back (and I didn't mention the foundation mix up because I thought it was an honest mistake and the packaging looks similar) and asked for help to find the concealer. When I opened the box, it was the wrong product again. I don't have a ton of time, so I waited until my next Sephora run to explain to the manager what happened, and that they had handed me the wrong product twice, and if I could have a credit to purchase the concealer. She said no and that there was a 60 day limit on returns. I explained that I don't come here often (make up usually lasts 3-6 months) so I waited hoping since it happened twice, they would help me out with a credit towards the right product. She kept firm on the 60 day policy. All of this to say, check your products and don't trust they will be handing you the correct item. I won't be returning to...
Read moreAngels sing in harmony each time I walk thru the fragrant doors of Sephora. Suddenly I have friends with perfect makeup and dressed in all black, carting around priceless pouches containing makeup brushes and beauty blenders. They all have perfect eyelashes and eyebrows to die for. After spending not enough time yet more than enough money, I'll leave with a feeling of hope and happiness. Which eventually turns into regret and buyer's remorse. If it's overwhelming, it gives me a justified reason to venture back to hear those angels sing and gossip with my pseudo friends because Sephora has a super friendly return policy. Return or exchange anything as long as it's not more than halfway used. And if im not mistaken, there is no specific time restrictions either. Even if you lost the packaging or the receipt, they can look up your purchase with your beauty membership and exchange away! Make sure you check your email for any possible discounts or perks that you may not otherwise be aware of if you are a member. But im sure you already knew this ;) If I could live in Sephora, I would...
