This place is the laughingstock of the Vietnamese people I know. They don't know how to roll! That's why the line is 40 minutes long, not because it's great food but because the guys behind the counter don't know how to roll and fumble for a real long time. Their rolls are ugly lumps that fall apart. The staff here think they're making burritos, so the multiple comparisons to Chipotle are hilariously ironic. (Yes, what Chipotle did to Mexican food in terms of "cultural misappropriation," Freshroll does to Vietnamese food.) Their apparent cluelessness about Vietnamese food predictably translates to bland eats as well, as flavors get watered down and sanitized for Anglo taste buds' protection. The pork is dry and too lean and the wrong cut, obviously a result of their misguided "healthy" mantra. Indeed, this place pushes the healthy angle and the have-it-your-way angle, but frankly real Vietnamese food is already pretty healthy AND TASTY (and doesn't look like it was made by a non-Vietnamese child), and do any of the customers in line know enough about Vietnamese food to make...
Read moreThis place is one of my favorites. The meals are very simple but delicious and satisfying. The best part of the meal is that you don't feel guilty after finishing down to the last bite because what you ate was healthy. Me and my co-workers are regular here. I always get 3 rolls of different meat each; pork, chicken and shrimp. I like the tofu too. The peanut sauce is awesome.
Oh, I have to mention the service is great. One time I tried to order online but their website was down so I called in instead. The manager who took the call was super nice. Although they weren't accepting phone orders at that time, he graciously made an exception and kindly took my order. When we got there, they were all ready and bagged nicely. He was so friendly and service oriented. He even gave us extra sauce as a treat.
I'd go here over and over again. I highly recommend this place. Just be ready to wait in line as this place gets really packed everyday around noon, proof that people like it a lot. Come in early if you want to...

Only caught because the order was $10 and it was easy to see. Seems other reviews at all locations point to this as a longstanding issue at their three locations for about the past year?
Benefit of the doubt: maybe it’s a mom and pop that are in over their heads? Nope. Their “About Us” page touts that one co-founder worked in finance, and the other has a law degree.
Also not included anywhere on their webpage or menu as of 4-29-25.
Edit: Owner responded that the 5% surcharge is for employees. Which I already understood. The issue is (1) it not being listed anywhere on the menu or website, which is a legal (and common sense) requirement; (2) it being rolled into sales tax which is, quite literally, fraud, especially if those taxes weren’t remitted to the state and were kept, as seems to be indicated...
