I was hungry and I wanted to eat and this place was next door to where we were hanging out at so we went inside and they weren’t open yet! I waited though because at that point I knew I wanted a Unagi Donburi (rice bowl with eel), and they were nice enough to at least give us water while we waited.
When I got the Unagi Donburi, I was a little sad. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. On the flip side, it was really good. The rice was warm, sticky and delicious and the eel was really good and I liked the seaweed as well.

My main dish was chirashi bowl (I always try it when I go to a new japanese sushi place because it's supposed to be the chef's [itamae] special bowl). The main shef here is definitely not a traind sushi shef [itamae]. Read moreAmazingly cosy and welcoming sushi bar! The owner of the restaurant was incredibly nice and very sweet. The service was fast and friendly and the sushi was exactly what we were looking for. Good tasting sushi at an affordable price!
We ordered the unagi donburi along with the King Kong and Mothra roll. The donburi was complimented with a side salad and miso soup. Along with an Asahi super dry craft beer, this meal was super filling for the two of us after a long day of hiking at lands end!
Strongly recommend supporting this family business!
P.S. if you’re gonna do a sake bomb, please DO NOT slam your fist on the table. Simply drop the sake shot glass into your beer and...
