I almost missed the best food in China town. We came for Chinese New Year. One weekend is not enough time to enjoy all the food and festivities. After waiting in that long line for Good Mong Kok Bakery. I did not have time to go here but something turned me around. Iâm so thankful I had the chance to try such delicious food! The flavors are outstanding. The best food I had all weekend. Probably the best meal Iâve had since leaving Okinawa. This is a great meal to grab before the ferry too. I was in such a rush to get back to my hotel, grab bags and run to the ferry. I didnât get a bite until two hours later. Cold food doesnât ever taste this good! Again the flavor of the pork belly, veggies and rice were so delicious. Iâm not sure what sauce I got (but it didnât need it. Everything was umi) brought a whole new flavor to this dish. It kept getting more delicious. I really appreciate the younger brother recommending the pork belly he just brought out. I love Okinawian pork belly (which is a completely different way of cooking and flavors than this) so it sounded great to me. Now I want to go back and try all of their food đ€€ Wishing them an amazing New Year and lots of well deserved success.
Tip-if you have kids, there is an incredible park close by to have a picnic at. Willie Woo Woo Wong playground. Also donât forget to stop at some of the great Chinese Museums...
Read moreMy first visit there via the "Too Good To Go" app was awesome!đ This App is all about prevention of food waste, helping the community and more, so please, check out the app.I paid $5.99 for end of the day food. I know I received no less than $15+worth of food which consisted of roast duck, crispy pork bites, rice& a green veggie all of which was delicious đ. So my second time on the same app, I bought 3 plates because I bragged about my new app and food spot in China Town, "Go Duck Yourself". Unfortunately, this second trip I was disappointed. The roast duck this time was spoiled. I reported it to the app service and now I must caution you to to please check your food before you leave. I will return again due to I feel it was served to me by mistake. And most definitely when you visit, try an order or two of their ribs, OMG! They are soooo goodđđđ you could eat them everyday I promise you! On the app "Too Good to Go" look for "Go Duck Yourself" it's worth the trip from anywhere. I came from Marin County. I wish I could give them 5 stars but to be fair I will for now give them 4 only because of the spoiled...
Read moreOrdered half a duck, 1lb char siu (honey roast pork) and season veg through their Door Dash business âGo Duck yourselfâ. Duck was succulent and included 2 sauces, a duck au jus and I think a plum sauce? Duck jus was great not only with the duck but also the garlic seasonal veg. The plum sauce was sweet (not too sweet) and a bit of vinegar, really pleasant.
The char siu was like pork candy. It was roasted to a deep red and the outer bits were crispy, and the larger center pieces was soft. It came with a ginger sauce to dip it in. Great with the pork or just pour some over your rice kinda like hainanese chicken.
The seasonal veg could use a bit of salt, but when you combine it with the flavorful dishes, itâs fine as is!
What I really like is how the children of the owners modernized the business with an online presence with an easy to order menu. Sometimes it can be daunting to order food in Chinatown, and I hope this alleviates anyoneâs anxiety or hesitation to order great Chinese bbq. I love coming back here time and time again for my...
