Ike's Love & Sandwiches — Restaurant in San Francisco

I don't really like leaving bad reviews...especially for something like this. I ordered through their website for office catering (20 sandwiches). In their office catering menu, there is a space for special instructions. Some folks have food allergies, so I asked for the sandwiches to be marked with names to distinguish them from the rest. I was also given the option to pick chips. I called the Polk street location to ensure my order was received and to confirm instructions. The line is dead and does not work. I reached out via website contact (twice) and have not heard a response back, either. One was to confirm the order, the other to state that my order was wrong/request a follow-up.

When I received my order...it was wrong. Nothing was labeled. The folks with food allergies were unable to eat their food because of questionable contents. No one received the chips they ordered. We only received Voodoo and Salt & Vinegar. Missing Jalapeno, Maui Onion, Sea Salt, and Voodoo Heat. The gluten-free sandwiches were not even labeled. On top of that, we were missing a sandwich. The sandwiches themselves were not really that great and bland. I have eaten an Ike's sandwich from their San Mateo location, and it was good. It just sucks that the quality and customer services of the franchise have really gone down. I don't know if I would order catering from Ike's again since there has been no follow-up from the company about my order.

EDIT: They asked me to contact them through their website...but I already did? I don't know where the original 2 messages I sent through that contact us space went. Ike's sandwiches on Polk, can you please respond to the original message(s) I sent through the "Contact Us" space on the website? It was a quite lengthy message that included all the details of my order. I am more than happy to work with you to resolve this. Thank you.

EDIT: Hi! So I reached out to them in their contact us part and...no reply back. So, customer service for this space (in regards to their virtual side) is awful.

EDIT: Ok...so they finally got back to me on 5/23. Almost a month later. Turns out my email went to their spam folder. They are working on resolving this with me. I updated my review to 2 stars since they are assisting me and are actively trying. I am going to give this place a try again...

It's called Ike's Love & Sandwiches, but I was shown no love today when trying to get a Damon Bruce. I placed an order to dine in, sandwich and a bag of chips. After noticing customers who ordered after me getting my food, I tried to ask the cashier who took my order about the status of my order, he straight up ignored me. We can just call him Brown Hat, since that is what he wore (Shift Lead-P, is what my ticket called him). He didn't look up at me and wouldn't acknowledge me standing 3 feet from him. Then I tried to ask the manager on duty, Pony tail with a gold chain, he also took a phone call and ran off. Didn't want to talk to me. So, I had to awkwardly wait at the counter to make myself known. And wouldn't you know, now they wanted to pay attention. So, they checked the to go order rack and my order had been waiting for 10 minutes. No one told me it was ready and I had to go up and find out myself, who knows if they would have ever told me themselves! It was packaged with BBQ chips, now I know they really weren’t paying attention! I ordered at 3:53PM, was promised my order at 4:00PM and didn't get it until 4:10PM. Please look at my receipt.

What really bothered me was noticing another customer doing the same thing I was. Going to the counter to retrieve their dine in order. It sucks! Having to follow up on your order. The store is SO FOCUSED on DoorDash and UberEats, they package everything as a to go order. The food was good, but staff is preoccupied and will not pay attention to Dine In patrons. They are losing their culture to the big tech bros, just focused on Mobile App purchases/to go orders, so sad!! I hate being that guy, but this staff needs to pay...

TL;DR: Every detail specified in my order was incorrect, when usually it's just one addition of an allergen I specifically asked not to include in my order. I'm done with this place.

After every few months I think "I sure do miss the Ike's in Redwood City, maybe I should give the Polk St Ike's a try." And then, when I do, they get some aspect of my order wrong, I don't go back for a few months and the cycle continues. This time was different. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich with everything except tomato and add fake bacon. After getting home and performing surgery on my sandwich, I decide this time I'm going to call the place to let them know so much of my order was wrong. The manager, after finding my order, let me know that they ALSO got the specific sandwich wrong and all the supposed fake meat was real. While I appreciate that he refunded my order and offered me a free sandwich, I've learned my lesson. I don't expect the free one would be the first correctly made sandwich I order from this location. Whatever it is I missed about the Ike Franchise, this place...
