We had an extremely uncomfortable experience at this restaurant that I feel obligated to share. One of the staff members acted inappropriately toward my wife, making her and our entire group feel deeply uncomfortable.
We were a group of seven Muslim men and women, some wearing hijab. When my wife went to use the restroom, she asked the staff for the code. Instead of simply giving it, he questioned whether she was a customer, and after she confirmed, he began flirting with her — asking where she was from and complimenting her dimples. She felt very uncomfortable, but we chose to let it go at first.
Later, when I approached the counter, the same employee asked me where I was from. At that point, I confronted him about his behavior. He apologized and said he didn’t know my wife was married — but that completely misses the point. Whether someone is married or not, this kind of behavior is never appropriate in a professional setting.
A restaurant should be a place where all customers feel safe and respected. Instead, this experience felt like harassment. It’s even more disappointing knowing that the employee, like us, is also Muslim and Afghan — he should know better. Regardless of his position, this behavior is unacceptable and should...
Read moreGot delivery last night and it was pretty disappointing. I got the chicken pesto panini, Greek salad, and the chocolate mousse cake. The sandwich was actually pretty decent, but it kinda fell apart and was just a French roll which I don't think is a great choice for panini bread. The salad and mousse cake were terrible, though. First of all the Greek salad had shredded lettuce in it which should be illegal. Greek salads shouldn't have any lettuce in them ever, let alone the worlds cheapest, saddest shredded lettuce. There was like one tomato and 3 slices of cucumber. There were plenty of olives and a decent amount of feta, but some of the olives were disgusting - probably way old. The "house made chocolate mousse cake" was awful. It was more like a brown emulsified Vaseline than mouse. I ended up throwing out 80% of the salad and 1/3rd of the cake. I was in the mood for a panini and salad, but maybe I should just stick to their pizza.
BTW they appear to be operating on delivery sites as "Pardon My Panini" with basically the same menu, minus the pizza, at a 20% markup so I guess take this as a review for...
Read moreDecent food, but meat is a bit dry. I've had better but I've had worse middle eastern food. I wouldn't recommend this place mainly because the meat (while in more kabob style chunks) is just dry due to being overcooked. They are generous on how to you pick the sides (3 sides for a platter), but a side would include hummus or pita or rice or falafel or something else. It's odd to me that rice is a "side" given how ubiquitous rice is in middle eastern food (it's also a dirt cheap restaurant ingredient). I just felt like I was being a bit shortchanged considering it's about $20 per person to walk out the door. For a place you walk up to, order, and wait, it's a bit on the pricier sides in my opinion. Also, the ordering system is the same as everywhere- it will prompt you to tip them (of course) so keep strong and stick to what you think is right! In summary, ok food, nice variety, but a bit stingy on a $20 "plate" of food. If your hungry and it's late, this'll do, but I'm not going out of my...
