Prices have leapt up all across the menu (+$3 to the burgers and onion rings). The onion rings here are still great, but my recent visit has me questioning the value and cleanliness.

In my original review, I praised their service and great onion rings. Their service is kind of cold now, and I saw one of the staff grabbing raw bacon with his bare hand which was probably washed, but I did pause to stare for a second. The onion rings are fried to order, which ensures they're perfectly crispy and the onion inside snaps when you bite into them, instead of slipping out of the batter.

Also, I got the OG burger with American cheese. It's comparable to a Whopper from Burger King. The patty was slightly crisped, which I liked, but also nice and juicy. However, they could have used a little less salt. Under the top bun, there was ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce, then a slice of tomato implanted inside the rings of a red onion, then American cheese with the patty as the last ingredient to the bottom before the pickles adhered to the bottom bun with more mayo. The burger was done in about four minutes despite the cashier saying fifteen minutes.

Also, this place used to have customers around the clock. It still gets customers but definitely isn't as busy as it used to be. This restaurant has gone downhill a little, but I'm hopeful they'll recover and still have the same quality of...

Had to give a low score for the lack of promptness picking up the phone + accommodation :(

I accidentally placed a pickup order through their new UI (I usually order through Doordash/Ubereats) and immediately called the restaurant to switch it to delivery. After several attempts to reach someone, I finally got through and explained that I wanted to cancel my pickup order and reorder for delivery - emphasizing that they wouldn't need to remake the food and I'd pay the delivery fee.

The staff member told me to wait two minutes, then hung up. When I called back a few minutes later, they said my order was already finished. I then asked if I could place a new, additional delivery order and have them give my previous completed pickup order to the delivery driver when they arrived. They refused.

I'm frustrated because this seemed like a reasonable accommodation - I was willing to pay all additional costs (delivery fee, tip, etc.) and it wouldn't have required any extra work from the kitchen since the food was already prepared. I don't understand why they couldn't make this simple adjustment to help a customer. I used to be a regular customer because I really like the burgers and fries but this does turn me off from using their new ordering app and future...

This is all about the burgers! I cannot even begin to tell you how awesome the El Jefe is, but I'm gonna try. This was my first time here despite wanting to visit for a while. Usually I got to Native Burger, that's pretty okay, too. So, my husband ordered the O.G., and he really liked it, and choice was the right choice for me--granted that there are only 3 beef burger choices to begin with. That's not a complaint. Anyway, driving all the way from Outer (Outer) Richmond was worth it. El Jefe has a wonderful kick to it; my lips are still tingling 20 minutes later. The spice doesn't overpower the flavor of the beef itself, which is important. The hamburger was perfectly cooked and the juices did not get absorbed by the toasted bun by the time I got home. I know, I could've just eaten outside in front the joint, but I just can't get myself to accept eating while cars are closely driving by.

Anyway, drop what you're doing and get yourself here. They have other sandwiches on the menu, vegetarian or chicken. I will try those next time. So far, my favorite burger place...

This is a sympathy four star review. It was kind of sad to see all three businesses across the street shut down. I hope Uncle Boy's can stay. We used to come here years ago. Ordering in person at their terminal felt impersonal. The workers were busy having a conversion with themselves and ignoring the customers. No hellos or help with ordering. I had the O.G. burger $9.50 and onion rings $9. My order was for dine-in and they put it a brown paper bag and they didn't ask if I wanted water or anything else and went back to joking with the other employees. They don't bring the food out to the parklet. I'm not sure why I tipped. It is one of those fallacies where the option to tip is at the counter and not after the meal. The little 4oz burger tasted OK. It tasted like a Jumbo Jack but with a toasted bun and whole slice of red onion. I really should have went up to Laurel Village and had a Super Duper burger instead. The service is much better there along with the food. But that's a chain restaurant.
