Fred's Burger — Restaurant in San Jose

I just want to say that this was my first time trying out this burger joint. Initially when I walked in the ambiance seemed chill. Then I came to the counter to order food. The woman took my order, in the middle of me telling her the specifics of my order, she walks away and gets to the food that was cooking, I gave her some grace for that as it looked like there were only her and another woman working. So she comes back and apologizes and proceeds to finish up my order. I pay and give a tip as well, then take my order number and cup, get my drink then sit down at a table while I wait on my order. Few minutes later my order number is called. I go to the counter and grab my food. The wild fries were hot and tasted delicious. Then I take a bite out of my burger, a few big hits before I my next bite and feel it really hard to bite through, so I check what it was I hit and its a hard green portion of the tomato. Because I didn't want to cause a scene, I just ripped out that hard part of the core of the tomato and was truly pissed off, its utterly unacceptable to be serving burgers with the hard core part of a tomato. If this business wants to have a better ratings make sure you tell your workers not to serve food like how I was serve my burger, you will...

3.5 After a little "failure to communicate" we finally got my order right. Evidently the woman at the counter was well experienced with this issue as she got it fixed fast.

On to the food. I ordered my favorite style of burger, the western bacon cheeseburger. Good burger, just the right amount of everything except bacon. No biggie, very few places get the amount of bacon right for me. Very tasty though. Fries were fresh and tasted good. Maybe a bit less salt, though that's more of a personal taste. Would have been nice to have some unsweet iced tea. I despise sweet tea. Reasonably priced.

As for atmosphere, meh. A little place in a small strip mall. Nothing really special about it to attract any "types". Typical American style fast food burger place. Appeared clean. That's a plus around here.

I just happened to see a "Fred's Burger" sign on my way to an appointment and decided I would check it out on my way back to work. I'm always up for a good, new (at least to me) burger. After the closure of another nearby burger joint that I really liked, it was nice to find another good burger close to work.

Was passing and it seemed nice and clean with comfy looking seating. Whilst waiting for it to be cooked noticed the friendly team welcoming people as they came in rather than the usual grunt you might get at some places. Had a combo of drink, double burger and fries for about $15. Real crisp light fluffy fries with a really nice double burger packed with fresh salad. And the burger just had that perfect flame grilled taste and juiciness blend. Don’t know what more you could want really from a burger and fries. Was delicious and in a par with other similar priced places. Must have been good quality too overall as didn’t repeat on me once afterwards. I liked this more than the in and out burgers which are really popular over here, as it was all just generally less greasy. Have a feeling would revisit although only here for a week so won’t be a...
