HP Tavern — Restaurant in San Juan

This was by far the worst dining experience I have ever had. Never in my life have I been treated with such disrespect. We got there at 7:40 and put in our order at 7:50. We waited like 15 minutes for our drinks which is completely fine. After that we were not checked on at all. I went to our server at 9 to ask what was going on and she said it was just busy and if I had a problem I can talk to the police. I have never in my life been told something so unprofessional. Once we got our food around 9:30 we still didn’t get out burger. All we ordered was a burger a pizza and mozzarella sticks btw. I asked what was taking so long again to what I believe was the manager and he said we needed to be patient cause we only put the order in at 9:10. WHAT!?!? we put in our order at 7:50 right when we got there. Are server also told us she was the only server on staff. This was yet another lie from our server as there were two others we had talked to. Not only that our bill was 90 dollars and the burger we never even got. It was the only thing taken off of our check. So 4 drinks a pizza and mozzarella sticks are 90 dollars?!?! We were also told “you people are so not understanding”. This is a great place to enjoy some pub food and drinks. Located on a really busy intersection. I would not recommend this place if you want a place with very little noise. We ordered the BBQ chicken ranch, La tripleta and the Naked one. These are some quality brick oven pizzas. The BBQ and mozzarella basil one were delicious. Great crust and plenty of toppings smothered on top. We also ordered the sampler appetizer, wings, chicken club, Boricua and brunch burgers. The wings here are a must order as well. The honey Siracha and Jack Daniels BBQ flavors were delicious. The Sriracha one was so popular we tried to order another round and they ran out. The burgers were unique in their own way. It's a thick beefy patty per burger. The bacon and sharp cheddar cheese were perfect.

Service here is great. We came right before the dinner rush and they were able to seat us quickly. They also have outdoor seating with some shade as well. Excellent food, music and staff. Ideal location in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the plaza del mercado area. The bartenders are phenomenal and the security service is on point, everybody gets checked. State and local police are on continuous watch so it is very safe. One thing I recommend is that if you are a tourist coming to have a good time just follow directions and don't give anyone an attitude people here are patient but to a limit and are not used to deal with rude people specially people while visiting the island. Enjoy yourself and have a good time if any issues arise talk to the manager on duty or the police they will help but by you thinking that you are back in your hood you are about to find out very quick this is not the place to start a fight or an argument.
