My husband and I were excited to eat here on the last night of our visit to PR, especially since they had vegan BBQ which is more rare to find. When we got there about 6:30pm (Saturday night), they were pretty busy - a huge long table of people had just left and the table had all the mess on it. Nobody greeted us at first, but we waited a few minutes and then they cleared a table for us. It was clear that they were short staffed as it looked like they only had 2 people running the whole floor and 1 of them was also a bartender - the one guy was running around like crazy.

Then we learned they were out of a bunch of stuff, including pulled chicken which my husband was going to get, vegan cheese and a few other things. It was surprising since it was early in the night. So he ordered the pulled pork in avocado, beans and rice, and I ordered the pulled jackfruit in avocado with vegan watermelon. We got the food fairly fast, but the watermelon had feta on it and the waitress never came back to check on us. The other waiter was able to help us out.

Overall, the food was good, but the service was a little disappointing (maybe it was on off night or someone called out), and note they don’t have A/C. It was nice to hear the live music from next door.

Note, we parked on the street and walked down - there is no parking lot. Check out via lactea down the street for vegan ice cream, delicious! Closes at 7pm so we ate dessert before dinner and split a flight of 4 flavors...

A piece of Texas in Pueto Rico. I've had this restaurant in my watch list for some time now. It did not disappoint. Place was very clean and peacefull. Service was very good specially the waiter who explained to us the menu and made some suggestions.

Now for the food. We ordered 1/2 rack of ribs, Texas style brisket, burnt ends and a side of watermelon with feta cheese. The ribs were just a little bit dry but were tender and the seasoning was very good and very original tasting, I had never taste seasoning like this on ribs ever it reminded me a little to the flavor of meat loaf šŸ˜„ in a good way and it whent perfect with the pineapple BBQ sauce. Burnt ends were tender, juicy and full of flavor the only thing I didn't like about it is that it had too much sauce. Now the star of the show was the Texas style brisket, it was tender, juicy and flavorfull, when I took the first bite it felt literally like it was melting in my mouth. I've taste brisket before but this was like brisket heaven. Weirdly the best side ive tasted to go with this type of food was the watermelon chunks with feta cheese, the refreshing taste went perfect with the saltines of the meat.

I'll definitely come back and taste more of they're awesome menu that includes brisket stuffed avocados. If you've had barbeque in Texas you will immediately know that this place is legit. I would give it a 4.5 but the google system doesn't have that option so I'll have...

Our last night in San Juan and we happened on this BBQ Joint. It was good but just good, the beans were the best thing, then the brisket and the ribs followed by the chicken lastly the pork. Cole Slaw was seasoned looking but it was oddly bland, it looked like it was to a good peppery flavor but it didn't deliver with the flavor. Whomever paired watermelon with feta cheese, cilantro, and mint leaves should be facing some sort of penalty box, this dish is on so many menus throughout the island i decided to give it a try and i should not have, it was a weird pairing, my pallet just did not get this flavor combo. What I did appreciate was the serving of all meats with just the dry rub. I do this st home when smoking meat, if the guests want sauce let em ask, I rather the meat speak for itself. The brisket was good, and did not need sauce, even when I added sauce they were better without. The ribs were very good with just dry rub but were a bit dry. Pulled Pork was very good and topped with the Cole Slaw, it had nice flavor but was just ok. The chicken was very good, I finished it at home and appreciated the smoky flavor and the sauce came in handy with the chicken. I would definitely visit again!! **Beware if sitting on the outer edge, there are birds over head and they will dump...

šŸ‘‰ Catch šŸ‘ˆ Here's a foolproof Puerto Rican food list 🧾 šŸ‘‰ A bit long, so save it for later ā˜ŗļøšŸ„¢ ā˜€ļø San Juan ā˜€ļø San Juan has an endless array of delicious food. I could eat here for a lifetime if I could. 怐Barjuice怑 Classic American breakfast, recommend the omelette with toast. The papaya smoothie is my favorite—not too sweet but with a rich fruity aroma. But skip the pineapple juice; one sip and it feels like your teeth might fall out from the sourness. 怐Punto de vista怑 A rooftop restaurant, and I dare say their mofongo is the best in Puerto Rico. Highly recommend the shrimp & chicken mofongo with creamy garlic sauce. The magic of this dish is that the chicken melts in your mouth, paired with a spoonful of plantain rice—it’s simply unforgettable. If you’re not into chicken or seafood, the fried chunks of pork with sweet criolla sauce is also a great choice. The beef option is just okay; the first two are the classics. For cocktails, try "Eat Your Drink" and the piƱa colada. 怐Larada怑 Recommend the ribs and octopus. The fries that come with the meal are especially delicious! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside—even though they’re just potatoes, they feel like they’re about to burst with juice. 怐Chocobar CortĆ©s怑 This is a chocolate-themed restaurant. The omelette is hearty, and adding bacon makes it just right. There’s also a chocolate cheese-filled bread that’s great as a dessert or a pre-meal snack. Don Ignacio is, without a doubt, the worst drink I’ve had in Puerto Rico. If you like the taste of dark rum, this might be your favorite, but personally, it’s harder to swallow than Chinese medicine. 怐Perla怑 An overpriced and underwhelming restaurant. The portions are small, and the service is painfully slow. The waiter claimed the lobster was freshly caught, but it tasted mushy. The dessert, however, was sweet without being cloying, and the indoor ambiance is perfect for dressing up and taking photos. But this place is really only good for afternoon tea. 怐San Juan Smokehouse怑 I saved this for last because it’s so good—it leaves you craving more. I ate here on my first day and made a special trip back on my last day. I’ve tried almost all the BBQ here. While the wings were a bit dry and the pulled pork was just okay, everything else is worth trying! Highly recommend the Burnt Ends, Texas-style brisket, smoked BBQ chicken, and bacon. If you can’t decide, just go for the duo platter—it’s a safe bet. Even if you don’t drink, I’d recommend the passion fruit mojito. It’s the best cocktail I’ve had in Puerto Rico. #PuertoRico #SanJuan #Foodie #TravelEats #BBQ #Mofongo #Cocktails #ChocolateLovers #FoodAdventures #TravelGram #InstaFood #FoodLovers #Wanderlust #EatLikeALocal #FoodHeaven #TravelBlogger #FoodJourney #FoodPorn #FoodDiaries #TravelInspo
