Los 3 Cuernos isn’t just a bar—it’s a rite of passage in Old San Juan. If you’re looking for a spot where the drinks are flowing, the atmosphere is electric, and the memories are as colorful as the walls, this is the place to be.

Let’s start with the chichaitos—aka the reason you’ll never look at shots the same way again. These anise-infused rum shots come in flavors like tamarind, passionfruit, and coconut, and trust me, they’re dangerously delicious. You start with one, then suddenly you’re three flavors deep and debating which one’s the best (spoiler: they all are).

The vibe? Perfectly chaotic in the best way. The walls are plastered with dollar bills signed by patrons, and the ceiling is decked out with vejigante masks that seem to cheer you on as you throw back another chichaito. It’s like being in a Puerto Rican carnival—if that carnival had amazing drinks and cool bartenders who make you feel like family.

Speaking of the bartenders, they’re absolute legends. Friendly, funny, and always ready with another round or a story about the bar’s history. They’re part of what makes Los 3 Cuernos feel like more than just a place to grab a drink—it’s an experience.

And if you need a break from the shots (or to soak them up), their sandwiches and Caribbean-style dishes hit the spot. Nothing fancy, just solid, satisfying food that pairs perfectly with the drinks and the vibe.

Los 3 Cuernos is the kind of place where you go for a quick drink and end up staying for hours, making friends with strangers and laughing more than you have in weeks. It’s the heart of Old San Juan’s nightlife, and honestly, missing it would be your biggest regret. Cheers to an...

As for the rating , i dare go above and beyond ,Come and enjoy a wonderful atmosphere ,great people from all over the Island and visitors from around the world..Experience the specialty which consist of an typical and classic shot from the island that dates back to our grandfathers....But has been conffectionized into a variety of flavors for the millenniums of today...even are old folks would agree that they are quite better then years ago...And threw it all , the great service and fantastic vibe that the employees share with awesome customers that have had great experiences speaks for itself...Serving people and sharing a enjoyable moments is what makes this place great to spend time as you visit Puerto Rico... And as the old saying goes when you have our shots...Parriba ,pabajo ,pal centro y pa...

Our six star review-if they were possible-for Viejo. Bonus for us, it was a block away from our B&B…But we are sure we would’ve found ourselves in this place regardless. I’ve trained bartenders most of my adult life and this is a place where the bartender, Giovanni, excels at all the facets: making great drinks, treating your guests like they’re your friends and, basically, throwing a party that you’d want to come to over and over again. Tony, the grill master, is great at his job and also makes you feel so welcome as he roams around doing his thing. Seriously, top five best places in Viejo and bonus: they give you markers so you can leave your mark on a bill while you’re there (you’ll understand when you walk in). We are telling everyone about this...

Awesome Old San Juan alley bar! I have been to the SJ area a half a dozen times (usually for the day on a cruise, but also for a long weekend), and I always end up here at some point. Just off of Plaza Colón (which is long overdue for a post-colonial rebrand/update; I vote for Pedro Albizu Campos or Roberto Clemente), so it is just a short walk from the cruise terminal. Great mix of locals and tourists (and cruise crew members) and cheap Puerto Rican cervezas and drink/shot specials! The long narrow bar is wallpapered with dollar bills and decorated with Puerto Rican art. Pick up some street food from Plaza Colón (or a mofungo from Yeyos a few doors down) and stop in for a cold Medalla (or 3 or 5).

I went here on March 19th 2023 (2:00 AM). My 5 friends decided to go here since it was late. I really wanted to like it, but sadly I had the worst drink in my life here. A lot of stuff was out of stock that night so we all decided on the passion fruit paprika drink. Not a single one of us enjoyed the drink. It was *inedible*. It had no passion fruit flavor. 0 sweetness. I also specifically asked for no paprika in mine. They didn’t listen. I took one sip and ALL I tasted was bad smoke from the paprika flavor that was overdone. My friend described it as lead. All 6 of us ended up throwing away that drink full. It was a waste of money and time. I’m hesitant to give it a second chance 😞…

I cannot rave enough about this place! It is very intimate bar, well-lit. The alcohol price was beyond reasonable, bordering on a steal. The lone bartender was super friendly and had offered many suggestions based on our taste. Be sure to try their $1 shots of many flavors. There is also a jukebox where you can queue up a song(s) that you want to hear. The music wasn't too loud that you couldn't hear the person next to you, but loud enough that you could dance to it. Finally, if you wanna leave your mark in this bar, you are welcome to borrow their markers and other coloring things to decorate a dollar. They will then recommend a place for you to tape it up with some adhesive!
