Nice staff, but the food we ordered was pretty rough. I can't say if it represents all their food, but our dinner was sub-meh. My son ordered the baked ziti w meatballs. There was perplexingly no sauce on the top 50% of the pasta and the meatballs were rather hard and dense. He is a pasta fiend and ate about 10% of it because it was so ungood. My wife ordered the gnocchi Alfredo. It was a dead ringer for two-day old glue balls smothered in fresh glue. I dont mean to sound harsh but Gordon Ramsay would have driven a bulldozer through this place so maybe this is a favor. They also ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer and my wife said it definitely frozen. No better than Trader Joe's. It would have been fine if it was advertised as "Trader Joe's fried calamari", but that probably would have been weird. I ordered sausage and peppers. It was honestly worse than something I would make on a rushed Monday night at home. I would expect more from a $20 plate of sausage and peppers. It also seemed more like pasta with sausage but without the pasta. There were five or six meager pepper slices in it. Definitely not an entree. My salad was swimming in vinegar yet most of it was somehow undressed. Maybe the pizza is better. I'm glad though that despite this the restaurant seems to do good business. Again,...

Worst meal of our lives. Please, please if you appreciate good food & perhaps a so call foody don't visit Via Appia's. Perhaps, order a pizza. I noticed numerous guest ordered pizza.

My champagne good. My husband's Tito's martini with 3 tiny olives was passible. My husband ordered veal with peppers. He got veal scallopini. I ordered cannellini stuffed with spinach, & got lasagna noodles stuffed with uncooked meat. I deconstructed my so call cannellini & played with my noodles. My husband was not able to eat the poor quality veal. This veal is used for grounding. At least this is what my butcher thought me.

Why, we didn't send it back & our server did Not offer to bring or remove this insult away. God only knows. All I know is that I'm hungry now & we're on vacation. Tomorrow, we'll return to "Cocina Abierta" where guest are treated with dignity & respect when it comes to preparing a simple pasta dish. And, yes we left the proper gratuity. Its not Rats fault but the management of this horrific,...

This is possibly the worst place I have ever eaten at! Oh and I’m from New York City so I have had my share of horrible dinning experiences. We waited an hour for a medium cheese pizza and a small side of butter pasta. The service is just horrible. After waiting the hour we decided to just pay for what we got which was the pasta and drinks. Right before we were about to pay the pizza comes out. We tell them we don’t want it and they take it away. Then the “manger” and very unprofessional little girl came out and says we discounted the pizza and walks away. Not even in NYC! Kirk discounted what I told I didn’t want it after waiting an hour for a medium cheese pizza! The excuse the kitchen was overwhelm with take out order. Like that’s not my fault you should be prepared as a restaurant owner and a manager to handle it. Don’t let ppl seat in your establishment or tell them listen we running a little behind or something!...

I had an incredible dining experience at Pizzería Restaurante Via Appia’s in Puerto Rico. I started with the calamari, which came with a house-made tomato sauce—something I had never tried before. The combination of perfectly crispy calamari with that unique sauce was simply delicious. For the main course, I had an anchovy and prosciutto pizza with onions. The balance of flavors was amazing, creating an explosion of taste in every bite. Beyond the fantastic food, what truly stood out was the exceptional customer service, especially from El Colombiano, who guided me with great recommendations. For me, customer service is even more important than the food itself, and this place delivered an outstanding experience on both fronts. One interesting note: I noticed many locals dining here, which is always a great sign. As a tourist, that’s exactly the kind of authentic experience I look for.

We stopped in for dinner as the restaurant was a few blocks from our hotel. They have a large selection of food and drinks and appears to be both a nice local area restaurant as well as tourist with a large menu and wine selection. We had  a pitcher of their Sangria and calamari. The Sangria was some what bitter but good, fruitful and favorable. The calamari was nicely prepared and delicious. We ordered the meat lagansa and Spaghetti dinner. Both meals were delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff was very busy but nice and friendly and provided great service. Overall,  great food and drinks and excellent service. Hopefully we can stop in for dinner on our next visit.

Make sure you have your COVID card to get in to sit and eat. It's worth your visit. They have valet parking too. You will leave satisfied. Food is so delicious 😋 & the atmosphere very family and friend friendly. Mix of Italian Cuban culture. A must visit. You can even buy a selected brands of wines. Seating is great. They have an open porch as you come into the restaurant and 2 inside area seating. Pretty big comfortable. Have a great time.👍🏾🥰
