Buns Burger Shop — Restaurant in San Juan

Great burgers, good flavor, more bang for your buck. Didn't like seating arrangements. They have a large wooden bench for large groups (14-16 people), but that rarely happens, so groups of four like us have to end up sitting with strangers to eat. That's weird to me, but they typical clientele here doesn't mind talking to strangers. I do. Been twice this past 7 days. Last time was raining. Bothered me sooo much that the minimum-wage employee was showing off her ”English" skills talking to people instead of doing her job which was to clean the tables. My wife was going to sit in the 4-chair corner table, but the employee made her wait until she cleaned the table, to our surprise that she had removed two chairs from the table for ”safety” issues because when it rained, water filtered under the door into the restaurant and under that table, so my wife had to start looking for another table... again! That's why we ended up at the large, ugly, inconvenient bench. Ended up eating between a family of four and an old lady alone by herself who was paying attention to our conversation and injecting herself in any topic she could. Felt bad for the lady, but we were looking for some family time. I get it; the concept of sitting with strangers and making a connection, but I don't need a story to tell everyone I know for the next 4-8 weeks of who did I talk to at Buns and what about. Food is great, flavor is great, but if you have a place to eat, I'd say go with the takeout (and get the cheese fries). Whole concept is very VERY (too close) similar to Shake Shack or maybe even BurgerFi. Cheese Fries taste almost the same. Burgers taste almost the same as Fuddrucker's. Pretty...

If I could give them ZERO STARS I would. I'm going to start off by saying that this food gave me food poisoning. I was sick with diarrhea, vomiting and the sweats for 36hrs. I ordered a double burger with cheese fries. The burger was undercooked and raw in the middle. The burger was tasteless, bland and had absolutely no flavor. The cheese for the cheese fries was yellow trash. No taste, no seasoning and no flavor. This was a huge surprise since I expected better because I tried this place only because I was told that it's the Five Guys of San Juan. Let me put that rumor to rest once and for all, Buns Burger Shop is MOST DEFINITELY NOT ANYTHING LIKE FIVE GUYS! Buns Burger Shop is absolutely NO COMPETITION FOR FIVE GUYS! Five guys burgers are filled with flavor, seasoning and taste. Not to mention Five guys french fries are legendary and incredibly delicious. I guess if you don't know any better you might think they're equal but they most definitely are NOT! Buns Burger Shop along with your burger order will serve up a side of food poisoning. So don't eat there but if you insist on still going, please be careful! Also, a note about the staff, they really weren't any good. Messed up my drink orders and didn't give me any napkins or straws nor did they direct me to where I could find it. The restaurant seating area was nice and clean but don't be fooled by that because the kitchen is serving up food poisoning. I will never dine here again and...

BUNS is Five Guys 2.0. Better quality of ingredients and more options when it comes to sauces. I think they have over 10 sauces here. My friends and I stopped by for lunch. We ordered the chicken sandwich, chili & cheese dog, classic and bacon cheese burger with cajun spiced fries. Each burger comes with complimentary lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, potato sticks and sauces. I think the cheese, potato sticks and fresh beef made the burgers great for me. They didn't taste frozen. The way the burgers were grilled with a nice char on them added some great texture. Price wise this place will not having you spend much to get full. My burger was a bit larger than your average burger. My friends and I really enjoyed our experience here. It was fun trying a bunch of sauces with our yummy burger and fries.
