Sobao Bakery & Restaurant — Restaurant in San Juan

Underground paid parking. Right in front of Bellas Artes. The coffee is watered down which is rare.in Puerto Rico since coffee is mostly excellent anywhere you go. Not here. You're given a big cup with watery coffee. Usually it's a smaller cup with stronger coffee. The coffee's not good. The place is nicely decorated. The bathrooms should just have regular girl boy signs, not quesitos or whatever they put on the other door. Keep it simple. Too sophisticated and you spoil it. I asked for mallorca con queso de papa. The mallorca is a smaller size than the regular mallorca in other bakeries. The cheese didn't melt and the bread wasn't crunchy so it tasted like they put it in the microwave. How can you mess up something so simple? Thety offered to do it again. But the cheese just did not melt. It looked nasty. Don't recommend at all. Go somewhere else or bring your own snacks. This...

My only complain here is that everytime I go. They always run out of Avena. Even at 9:30 am they already run out. I always ask why they don't make more if they always running out means they have demand. There respond is that they make a bach and once gone they don't make more. I believe they run out to soon and they have a demand that they are not meet. But I love the place and the music is outstanding always. Great place and great customer service. Today 13 Dec. 2021. again at 09:00 am and they already run out of avena. Why management don't take this issue. I come here because is like home. But always the same there is demand but never meet. I see people while I'm here asking for the same and the same answer they already run out. Good management will not let this happen that often. Sorry this is my only thought...

This was my first time going to one of the many Sobao establishments that Cidrines has. The food is a bit pricey, but worth every penny. I ordered a Cubano sándwich, with a soup of the day (pumpkin cream), soda and a latte and a “quesito” (Puerto Rican pastry) for dessert. The pumpkin cream had a very good consistency and flavor, the sandwich was just good and the coffee and quesito were delicious. The service was excellent and my order was ready and taken to my table fast (I went at around 1pm). This is a nice place to go to alone, with friends, family or associates.
