I'm thinking we've been spoiled to really good sushi at other locations, specifically at Toshi 2.0 in Atascadero. On this day, we were in SLO and only had an hour available for lunch, so we figured we we try a new place instead of driving all the way north. This place did not have flavors that popped out at you as we were expecting from sushi. Normally, when we eat sushi, we as a family are snatching up every piece we can eat and devouring it because it is so delicious. At this place, we were trying to eat it just not to leave it behind. We ordered 2 special rolls and fried rice. The flavor was just kind of blah, lije supermarket sushi. I was really surprised to see that there were several of these branded locations in California. I don't intend to leave a poor review, as there was nothing wrong with the service, I just wouldn't go back as I did not find the flavor of the food snappy, fresh and flavorful. Maybe it was an off day, but I don't think so. My money, my choice. I'm not willing to give it...

One is the main menu offering pages of sushi, sashimi, more rolls, salads, bento boxes, poke, tempura, Korean grill, miso udon noodles, on & on. How do you decide ? I choosed the Rainbow Roll, accompanied with 5 pieces of assorted sushi for $19. Which came with a mixed salad, miso soup, & edamame. What they excelled on variety and quantity. They lack, in the quality fresh diverse flavors of the...
Read moreThe food is great, the service is great as well. However it's a bit pricey compare to other Sushi places that I've been to like Yo Sushi, Show Sushi and Kabuki. I mean it's not one of those Sushi Fine Dining Restaurants where the Sushi are really really expensive because the supplier that they use are the top ones but I feel that the price at Yanagi is almost similar to those so I find it very unusual for them to charge that much.
But all and all good experience. The servers are respectful. It's clean and very quiet...
