Hard to write a review when you really don't have much to add. You'll read about the noise problem, which can be a bit unnerving particularly in the morning and rush hour in the evening. The noice really didn't bother me except for the occasional motorcycle and someone blaring their music. It pretty much settles down during the time you need to sleep. It's odd that when its noisy it's really noisy, and when it's quiet it's really quiet. Would have been nice to have a fan in the room just to feel the air circulating and provide a little white noice.||Never used the ear-plugs they provide, didn't need them.||The air-conditioning is a little slow at cooling down the room, but works great. It's easy to over react on turn it down too low, only to wakeup to freezing cold, which isn't a bad thing, rather that than too hot. Most importantly it's quiet, you're not aware it's on.||Love the hassle free coming and going and not having to worry whether you have your key. Getting help is only a text message away. Communicating this way is so much more convenient than having to go through a hotel operator which never answers the phone. More importantly, the person you texting with is the person who is going to solve the problem.||It's nice to have ice just a few steps from your room, and a few more steps to leave. Enjoyed the walk to and from the hotel from downtown. Great little exercise and a great way to start and end the day.||Getting up in the morning to make coffee and tea a real treat, feels like you're in someones home. The public space is a great place to relax while your waiting for the hot water to boil. Refreshing to be able to get out of your room for just those few minutes, a little escape from the four walls of the room. You'll will or have read how nicely the hotel is designed.||Interestingly, when you first hit the bed it's not immediately impressive. After spending the night on it you realize you just had one of your most comfortable nights sleep. The comfortable mattress is accompanied by two perfect quality pillows, one feather, the other foam. The three combine to create a wonderful nights sleep.||No other hotels in town provide this spacious a room and amenities for the price. It well designed. We look forward to coming back, we visit San Luis Obispo at least twice a year, several years running.||Lastly much thanks to Kelly who is the host, concierge, reservationist, housekeeping, book keeper and God knows what else. She made the...

I contacted by ISP and was told emails are not kept longer than 3 months (sent files or archive folders).|• On October 5, I was sent an email from Bulter House (Niamh Lanigan) asking when arrival. I emailed and called stating this reservation was cancelled over 3 months ago. I was told due to a no-show policy; I would be charged. I paid charge $205.|• Over the course of my trip, I stayed in 6 different hotels. EVERY hotel sent me an arrival confirmation email at least 48 hours prior to actual stay, a much-needed curtesy for a professional hotel. Butler House does not do this. So, since I canceled reservation and they believe I did not, there was no courtesy email and regardless, I was going to be paying this fee.|• Niamh stated the hotel would call me in the morning to discuss. No phone call ever, just another nasty email stating the charge would be processed. Fine but the misinformation regarding communication falls in line with the current email situation or lack thereof.|• The harassment I received from both Niamh Lanigan and other manager: Lorraine Kerwick was unacceptable and board line bullying. After the last email from Lorraine, I had to request “we are done here’ to have the email exchange stop. Never did they honor their conversation of communicating via phone the next day, as was stated by Niamh on our phone call.|• My suggestion: |- This hotel is run by a trust, therefore think government agency, find another hotel.|- Maintain email confirmation is hard copy form|- Read the reviews (not the 5’s but deeper into reviews).
