I'll start out by saying, I LOVE Chipotle. I've been eating there since 2004. I always get the same thing too. I'm not one to normally write reviews, but the experience I had at this location left a bad taste in my mouth. I always order a steak burrito with grilled peppers and onions, no beans. When I was asked what kind of burrito I wanted, I responded with "steak burrito." They started making my burrito and when it came time to put on the peppers and onions, it turned out that they were "out" of peppers and onions. Not a big deal as I've come across this situation before. Usually they have them already being prepared. The longest I've waited for peppers and onions to be prepped is 10 minutes. And I really don't mind waiting because the food at Chipotle is so good. However, the way the staff member reacted is what bothered me. Instead of saying they were being prepared or even apologizing for the inconvenience or perhaps offering me something else to try, the associate instead tried to rush me through the process of making my burrito. As a manager of a restaurant myself, I understand the importance of speedy service, but quality of customer service is important too. I stopped the associate before continuing with the burrito and said I didn't want to order it anymore if there were no peppers or onions. He took the tortilla with rice and threw it in the trashcan without saying anything and proceeded to the next customer as if I didn't exist. I could visually see on this individual's face that they were totally put out and annoyed with me. I was very kind and patient with the person and to be treated back with such blatant contempt is something I don't appreciate. It wasn't even a busy time of day when this happened. I understand that it can get very busy and stressful in the food industry, but if that's not something that you can deal with than perhaps you should reconsider your job. I will personally never go to this Chipotle...
Read moreStore does not follow Chipotle's allergen procedures, is insubordinate to do so and is rude when you ask them to actually do it. They also had many food safety critical violations in this short meantime, blowing into gloves, cross contaminated food, not washing hands long enough, wiping hands on dirty aprons and still using the gloves, touching their faces with gloves, saying gluten allergies don't matter. This is the 2nd time in Utah we have had a location that does not want to follow Chipotle procedures on food allergies. The manager even was insubordinate to follow the company procedures until I started to email Chipotle directly about the experience we were having. She gave a bunch of attitude the entire time doing it, never tried to help fix the situation and she did not train her staff about food safety and Chipotle allergen procedures. If this was a one time thing like last time, it wouldn't be as bad. At least we didn't get cussed out in Spanish which we are fluent in like last time. Is this a Utah culture issue? Is this the district manager not caring about food allergies and food safety? Is this each store just not training their employees properly on Chipotle standards? It's gotta be one of these because in 2019 we went to 6 Chicago locations, 1 Milwaukee, all over Colorado (at least 20 locations, some with a multitude of visits), 1 Atlanta, 1 Albuquerque, and never had an issue. The only one we had an issue with in 2019 was 5141 State Street and now this location as well. We've been to locations throughtout California, Ohio, Florida, Texas, and never had an issue. Just the normal hard time if the location is slammed but they still do it. Utah locations though have been the worst we've ever dealt with. The sad part is, this is being nice asking to have them change their gloves due to gluten allergies, can you imagine how bad it would be if you didn't stand up for yourself in improper...
Read moreThis chipotle is always disappointing, but last night was the worst.
The Service: The line worker was extremely rude and had an attitude, almost served me rice with a bay leaf, which I had to call out even tho it was pretty visible. She was basically throwing the food in me and my girlfriend’s bowl , it was very visible she had an attitude. This is does not make the experience good from the start. She then told my girlfriend they were out of guac for veggie bowl and didn’t even bother to checking in the back , to which a few minutes later after we paid for our food the prep guy brought fresh guac to which I then had to pay for a side even tho it comes with a veggie bowl… She then banged on the bathroom door for the cashier.. I told the cashier which types of bowls I got, (veggies , and chicken bowl) he practically was about to put his nose in my girlfriends veggie bowl even after I told him what we ordered -_-
The Food: I asked for a bowl with a tortilla which the tortilla was extremely crunchy and over pressed around the edges because the line worker left it in there too long -_- The brown rice in my girlfriend’s bowl was extra crunchy, like it was cooked poorly. The fajitas were poorly cut and had parts of the onion such as the bottoms causing them to be clumped together. The manager is almost never present ensuring food quality and good service. I understand they have closing tasks , but when your front of the house workers are like that you should be a lil more involved.
I used to love chipotle , but every time I go, especially to this location I’m reminded that I should just cook at home. It doesn’t matter what time I come day/night it’s always something. This chipotle location is probably the worst I’ve been too. Be cautious ordering from and going to...
