RE-EDIT AS BUSINESS IS NOW CHANGED FROM NICO'S TACOS TO SAMO OAXACA SaMo Oaxaca: The outdoor decor is great of you are willing to go outside and eat in the open air and aren't conscious nor concerned about homeless people who hang outside of the 7-Eleven store asking for spare change. While the it looks like they are still renovating the place by the giant piles of boxes that adorn the place, the interior is still remotely clean and all employees wear appropriate PPEs. They have huge selections of good bountiful amounts of food and tye employees are able to advise on great food choices in your don't know what to get. The red salsa is very nice and spicy! Overall the food was good and delicious. We had the California burrito, the Carfado burrito, the loaded breakfast burrito, and an Asada burrito. Definitely recommend. 👌 Nico's Tacos: This place is has a great selection of mexican food and the restaurant is always very clean. They are lacking on decor but they make up for it on taste! I had a huarache of alpastor and tacos and they were so good!

A superb find in a tiny strip mall about a mile from the Santa Monica pier! We're big fans of Mexican cuisine and have had great Mexican food experiences in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Mexico and our home area of Madison, WI. This list could go on and on. Now, in telling the person who served us how great their Mexican food is, he gently corrected us that this is Oaxacan food.😃😃 The mole was definitely of the Oaxacan style, dark, rich, ever so slightly gritty with pumpkin seed, slightly spicy and absolutely delicious! Our other choice was berria tacos 🌮 I've had some delicious versions of this in Arizona, Wisconsin, and Texas, but sometimes they lack a distinct taste and are too wet. These were exceptionally flavorful and the perfect degree of moisture. I only give 4 stars to give a heads up on the location. Three tables and you share the dining room with coolers and the service counter. The staff was friendly, authentic and competent. Because of our gushing over the food, our server treated us to 2 cups of their horchata... again, delicious.

Santa Monica hole-in-the-wall serving Oaxacan food and Mexican food standbys. Came here for lunch on a Saturday, and ate the food in nearby Hotchkiss Park. There were a few outdoor dining tables, but the majority of people that came in got takeout. Credit cards are accepted, and you can call ahead or order online for pickup. Limited parking is available in the strip mall lot. The Oaxacan burrito is vegetarian, but you have the option to add meat for an additional cost. I was curious about the Oaxacan cheese that came inside of it, and I would describe it as a smoky mozzarella. The burrito also came with black beans, rice, a smattering of avocado, and salsas. The street tacos are $2.25, with an additional charge for lengua or asada. The chivo (goat) taco has a deep flavor and was tender. My dad said his tripas taco was the best he’s ever had. Overall, a nice spot to grab some reasonably priced Mexican food in SM.

I think this place is very tasty. Limited parking in the 7/11 lot, but I managed no problem on a taco Tuesday.

Seating available inside and out. Very clean kitchen. Organized staff, very nice.

The street tacos are heavily filled with the meat cilantro onion on top great salsa. The rice is orange fluffy deliciousness that I have come to love. Guacamole is very good, great texture and flavor. And I'm biased about pumpkin seeds I love him concede so these are great snack to get to go.

I ordered online, taco Tuesday tacos, side of rice and pepitas. Perhaps it's the only menu system or maybe this is just how it's done but I was a little disappointed to see that with the three tacos that come with Taco Tuesday meal, it also states it comes with a side of chips, salsa & guacamole. Overall the food is good. My experience was good except my one complaint about the chips...

It came with 3 chips as the side. 3.

Granted they made of strips of a street taco size tortilla, but only slightly larger than a standard restaurant sized chip. But had I known this, I would have ordered a side of chips to go with all the salsa that I was given. Which was 6 salsas, one guacamole for 3 chips & three tacos.

I should be grateful that they're saving me from the extra calories, but I'm not.

I with recommend going here, nice little restaurant. Bright, clean, nice staff and solid food.

Oh and I asked for extra of napkins and utensils online. The girl who was running the counter even mentioned sge put those in there for me as I requested. Before I even had a chance to ask, which I loved that she noticed that and acknowledged it. Never had that happen at a restaurant before so...
