Listen, we love Clary's. First visited 16 years ago and have been back at least once every trip since. The food never fails to make us all happy, and 99.9% of the time, even if it's busy and we have to wait, we are treated with the utmost courtesy, everybody's friendly and down home, and we have a wonderful time.

So when we went there this past Sunday, we were completely caught off guard. There was a dark-haired woman we've never seen before at the hostess desk. She was nasty, short, got an attitude with my partner over our place in line, and made us feel completely unwelcome. I don't even remember how long the wait was, I just started looking up other places to go even if it was going to be the same amount of time because I was so disgusted. My partner reminded me that Clary's breakfast is still the best, the service is usually excellent, so we waited. And I'm glad he talked to me into it because I tried the veggie omelette, not quite as delicious as my favorite, the Greek omelette (which I had Saturday) but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was great, the waitress was bubbly and friendly, the person who brought us our food was cheerful and friendly, so we decided to come back on Monday to try one more time before we headed back out of town. And it was the regular Clary's again, excellent experience, felt right at home.

So if you get to Clary's, and there is a woman with dark hair making you second guess your restaurant choice before you are even seated, ignore her, she is not representative of that place. And that's why I felt the need to write a review not quite a week later because it's been weighing on me. I don't want one of our favorite places to suffer because of one person. But, because of her, I can't give...

REALLY disappointed in the whole experience at Clary’s. I love classic diner breakfast and I was so excited to try this place out. We heard that it was a hidden gem in Savannah and the menu looked awesome.

We went on a weekday morning and were able to get in rather quickly. Our service was prompt, with our waitress wanting to take our order right away. The food came out almost too quickly, especially considering how busy the restaurant was. As a former chef, a little suspicious when the food is too fast. The grits were delicious, but that’s about the only highlight of the meal. I got a provolone omelet which was thinned eggs with unmelted provolone cheese slices. Clearly not fresh eggs as the omelet was thin, and obviously it wasn’t piping hot considering you can see that even the cheese on the inside of the omelet wasn’t melted. The sausage was dry, I would guess it is heat and serve patties and was just sitting in a warmer in the back. The biscuit was a bit dry as well, just a heat and serve, nothing special. Also had the Benedict. The poached eggs were nice and the Benedict was fine. Not earth shattering, but hot and well cooked.

The waitress gave us our bill as soon as our food came out and picked up my partners plate before she was even finished with her grits. Don’t expect a warm environment because she never checked on us or our food and rushed us out so fast that a warm up of coffee wasn’t even offered. I wasn’t even halfway done with my plate before she charged our card and told us to have a good day. If you want an expedited breakfast with no hospitality then this is the place for you. Bummed because I had such high hopes. Will not be making a return or...

Clary's Cafe in Savannah, GA left a lasting impression on me with its warm and welcoming atmosphere. As I sat at the breakfast bar, I witnessed a heartwarming interaction between the mail lady and the staff that truly exemplified the kindness of the place. The mail lady, who seemed exhausted from her early morning rounds, was greeted by the guy at the register who offered her a drink. He promptly arranged for a staff member to prepare a sweet tea for her to go, and to my surprise, it was on the house. This small act of generosity spoke volumes about the staff's character and made the experience even more special.

The waitress who served me throughout my meal was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Her genuine warmth added to the overall pleasant ambiance of the restaurant. It's always a delight to be served by someone who goes the extra mile to ensure a positive dining experience.

Now let's talk about the food itself. Clary's Cafe exceeded my expectations with its delicious offerings. The menu had a wide variety of options, and the quality of the food was outstanding. Every bite was a delight, and I couldn't help but appreciate the flavors and the attention to detail in each dish. Moreover, the prices were quite reasonable, making it even more satisfying to enjoy such a fantastic meal.

Overall, my visit to Clary's Cafe was a delightful experience from start to finish. The genuine acts of kindness displayed by the staff, the friendly and attentive service from the waitress, and the delectable food all contributed to a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Savannah who is looking for a combination of exceptional hospitality and...
