Our last time going here after 4 disappointing visits. I have patronized the restaurant since they opened (took over the space replacing a subpar chinese restaurant). Several things have gone wrong. First the prices have gone up. I realize that there is inflation, but when combined with the next things it adds up to never again. The second thing is that they have literally cut portions almost in half. Our two favorites have been bulgogi and spicy chicken. The beef is now about a 1/3 cup of pieces that are almost small enough to be considered minced. The chicken pieces are slightly bigger, but again very small in overall quantity. The quantity of rice is significantly smaller and even the bean thread noodles that used to be approximately a cup of full beautiful noodles slathered in flavoring are now about a 1/2 cup of chopped up pieces with barely anything on them. Who in the he** goes to the trouble of chopping up noodles? People who are trying to rip you off trying to make quantities look bigger, that's who. Another example would be the side dishes. They give you 1 serving of kimchi to split between 2 people. And my favorite potato side dish consisted of 4 pieces to split between 2 people. I used to get 5-7 pieces in an individual meal alone. And the worst for last, flavor and toughness. The bulgogi meat, on top of being sparse and basicall minced, was tough and very weak in flavoring. The spicy chicken used to basically be coated in the beautiful spicy sauce. The sauce is now rather thin and not as potent. The chicken just looks like plain chicken with a few small pepper flakes on it. So if you don't care about overpaying, small quantities, weak flavoring, tough meat give it a shot. We should have known something was wrong (yes, the 3 previous visits should have been a clue, but we were just so hopeful they would return to their former glory) when we came in at 12:30 on a Thursday and there were literally only 2 people eating. The place used to be packed every day. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really wanted to give this 5 stars and a more favorable review because the attendant that took my order was so sweet and just went the extra mile to make sure I had the side dishes I wanted without ordering extra. I ordered my food before noon today for lunch, itās now 7:56 (at the time of this review) and my food is mostly untouched.
I specifically requested for my food to be hotter than the usual spicy level, and it was so sweet.. like sugar level sweet. The ddukbokki had no eggs and dumplings.. apparently, that only comes with the large serving. I had no idea (they didnāt explain it to me at the counter.. it wasnāt until I got home that I found out). Also, there was literally only one rice cake.. what I got was instant noodles and fish cake in sweet red sauce (when I requested for spicy). The spicy seafood was (once again sweet) japchae with maybe 5-6 pieces of octopus. The āfried riceā tasted like steamed brown rice and the only edible thing. The kimchi and other side dishes were too salty to be edible. I spent over $30 on this meal and the only edible thing was the āfried riceā which was a side dish to the āspicy seafoodā.
Iām not sure if they were having an off-day or itās just what I ordered or if because I was one of the first in line when they opened today, that they gave me leftovers for last night..!? Idk.. I just know that Iāll probably not go back, but you may proceed at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI read the reviews of this place and thought it was a real good place to eat. drove from Hinesville, GA but moved from another state from the north. The taste was Ok but the rice was like basically left over or very soft or maybe over cooked. Not sure how someone can over cook rice. I had the (DOLSOT) BIBIMBAB that is made with rice mixed with beef and assorted vegetables but The pieces of beef that came with it was like 5 pieces and they were just like smaller then a dime size, I think the pieces of beef could be bigger like half dollar size or bigger., plus they used a lot of sesame oil with the rice which was already very soft which I like it with something to chew a little. If they probably cooked it a little more you probably could have sipped it through a straw. The appetizer was good though which was fish cake soup. That is one star for that. There kimche for sides was good until I asked for more it was like they added a bunch more salt to it on the second time around. My wife ordered the CHAMPONG seafood noodle soup (spicy or non spicy). She said the food was a little to cold for her which I know she likes it hot. I like korean food if done right and I had real good and real bad that made me sick. I give it 2 stars for good taste and for the appetizer fishcake soup. Service was quick o I guess I could give another star but when they changed the kimche from the 1st round like added salt to it took it...
