The Marshall House During the Civil War, this hotel became a hospital of suffering. Limbs were piled in corners, blood stained the floors, and the walls rang with the screams of amputations. Time never erased the agony, guests today hear the same cries, faucets gush with phantom water, and footsteps creep the halls long after midnight. The building does not rest, and neither do its patients. Listen closely, those footsteps belong to a patient who never left… and he’s still looking for a bed. #ghostour #savannahga #marshallhouse #hauntedfyp #paranormaltiktok

Before whispers filled its halls, and before soldiers turned it to sorrow, the Marshall House was a dream. In 1851, Mary Marshall, a woman of quiet resolve, opened her hotel on Broughton Street, complete with wrought-iron balconies, polished floors, and chandeliers, that burned like captured suns. Savannah admired her ambition; few women built empires then... Merchants gathered in the parlor, travelers toasted the city’s charm, and music rose through the shutters into the humid night. Yet beneath the laughter, the building waited... Some houses seem born awake, listening to every footfall, memorizing every sigh... The Marshall House was one of those. #savannahga #themarshallhouse #historichotel

We stayed at the Marshall house just last weekend and I cannot say enough good things about it. The great service started even before we got to the hotel. They heard about issues we had with a third party and went above and beyond to try and make it right for us, even though it was not their obligation to. Thank you to Hugh, the general manager for making that possible. Thank you to Stephanie, guest services for going above and beyond to contact the general manager even though she didn't have to in an effort to right something that was not even the hotel's fault. Thank you to Darius for being so kind to us in every interaction. Every single employee we encountered from the valet to front desk to cleaning was kind, friendly and serviced with a smile. At check in when Darius found out we don't drink and we missed the bar/happy hour thing they have he made a point to get us sparkling cider! We weren't expecting that at all! I have got to say, this is the best service in a hotel that we have probably ever gotten. They really make an example of what high level of service should be. As for the actual hotel itself we booked a one bedroom which was simple but pretty. I loved the actual hardwood armoire, which they make sure you have comfy robes in. The bed was firm, but once you laid down it was incredibly comfortable and we were out for the night. The temperature was just cold enough that you could bundle up and it was perfect. They say the hotel is haunted, we didn't experience that. The halls do look a little like The Shining (Which I loved and found neat, boyfriend kinda creeped out) We found a couple odd pennies, one on the floor and one on the bed, but aside from that we didn't hear what guests report as children playing in the hall or anything. We slept like a rock, and woke up feeling incredibly refreshed. Overall, we loved the Marshall House. We will absolutely stay there again (Without making the mistake of booking through a third party). It is in a great location, you can walk to the river front with just a few blocks, there is plenty to do around the area. Savannah itself has a lot of walking, but this is a great location to start at. The hosts also have a lot of good recommendations for locations and food. Don't miss out on this historic hotel. It is 100% worth the stay and you will not regret it. The one downside was we only had time to stay one day because we were doing a day trip to Savannah. Next time we will make sure that we spend...

We stayed here for our honeymoon and we were very impressed with the Marshall House. It was very romantic. We discovered a bottle of champagne on ice upon checking into our lovely room. Highly recommend! Historic, beautiful building that has maintained its old quirks and charming crooked floors, original fixtures etc. Very nice staff, clawfoot tub 😍 comfy bed, spotlessly clean. Near all the good restaurants and not far from Forsyth, Jones st etc. Savannah is stunning!

Breakfast every day is included. However, the way they serve the food is weird and inefficient. You fill out a form checking boxes indicating what you'd like to eat, then, inevitably, the extremely flustered staff bring you the wrong food. Like every day, we were brought the wrong food, it was a cluster to say the least! First world problem I know, and it certainly didnt negatively impact our stay, but it was obviously very disorganized and I felt sorry for the employees. It is a poor use of the staff's time making them run around like that - and they were running, literally. The reason for all this fuss? "Covid." LAWD. That is ridiculous. Honestly at this point in time, people are happy to go back to buffets. We're no longer in a pandemic, guys! Those who protest buffets are likely just germaphobes in general anyway irrespective of COVID-19. Management need to reevaluate the efficacy of this approach IMHO.

Free wine every evening at 5 o clock with some sort of entertainment (trivia night, live music, history talk) which is such a nice touch. The balcony is very new Orleans. FYI you have to climb out of your window to get onto the balcony, yes really. Haha!

The big fly in the ointment were the unbelievably rowdy, surprisingly trashy guests in the room next door to us. The first night was bad enough, but the 2nd night was really awful, I'm talking Motel 6 kind of behavior LOL! You pay all that money and in return expect a certain decorum from your fellow guests, but no, despite us asking them to keep it down they were screaming, banging and braying like donkeys all night. We were soooooo dang tired all day because of those nasty inconsiderate jerks. We filed a noise complaint with the front desk and to their credit they dealt with it immediately, comped us some money back and we didn't hear a peep from anybody that night. We finally got some rest! The behavior of the guests is not the hotels fault, as unfortunate as it was. I would happily go back. Thank you...

We just finished our 2 night stay at this hotel and it was wonderful. The service of the staff was great. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The location is absolutely perfect! The bed was comfortable. Yes the wood floors are a little creaky and the room is on the small side but it’s an OLD HISTORIC building beautifully renovated, so if you go into it knowing that, you’ll appreciate how lovely it really is. It was just right for the 2 of us. The ceilings are very high which helped make it feel more roomy. I for one was grateful for the A/C fan because I didn’t want to happen to hear any potential paranormal sound lol, otherwise the room would be VERY quiet. We were at the end of the hall and we have zero complaints on any noise. I specified a room away from the elevator or stairs so that may have helped. We really were very comfortable and happy with everything during our stay!

When we booked the hotel I did not know the stories behind this place, but my husband did and didn’t tell me! Stinker! I just happened to pull up the website later and got a little nervous because I did not want to be scared by anything. I did not want to be on the 4th floor because of the stories, so we were on the 2nd. However we did have an ‘experience’. After getting settled into the room I acknowledged the ghosts and out loud thanked them for allowing me to be a visitor in their space and kindly asked them while if they wanted to have fun, just to please be kind and not scare me though. I know that may sound odd to some, talking to ghosts, but I really believe in that. Anyways LITERALLY right when I got done saying that, while my husband was standing there facing me, the bathroom door which was open about 5 inches, closed by itself!!!!! And not just a slow soft close, it didn’t slam shut but it closed hard enough that the door latched. I mean I can’t make this up. Both my husband and I were like OMG that was crazy!!!! I’m glad it was the daytime. A coincidence? Maybe. I guess it all depends on how you want to look at it, but it sure was interesting timing. Also our sound machine at some point turned off in the middle of the night. It wasn’t the battery because I could turn it back on. They definitely heard me when I said if you want to...
