We had an unfortunate experience today. After riding the Tour de Bosa this morning, 6 of us decided to have breakfast/lunch at the Daily Dose. Food was fantastic, our server, Stephanie was great. When we went to pay; however, my friend, who happens to be a retired Air-force Dr, was told she couldn't use her Samsung to pay for her meal. Since we cycle, we travel with as little as possible. Samsung pay isn't like Apple Pay...it actually uses frequency waves as though you're using an actual credit card rather than your phone. The issue isn't that he wouldn't use it as payment; however, but the way we were treated by the manager, Adam. A manager should be able to deal with issues without being condescending or rude to the customers. Repeatedly interrupting and not listening to your customer and just repeating, "This isn't my protocol" isn't helpful or professional. We also asked to speak to the owner to which we were told, "No!" and we were told we couldn't wait to speak to the owner. My friend said she'd walk the 1/2 mile (after we just rode 50) back to her car to see if she had any cash in her car. I was going to stay behind to wait for her and had already paid cash for my meal. The manager wanted me to give him my ID or my phone as "hostage". Really?!? We're dressed in cycling clothes and just finished a road ride in Scottsdale that boasted 600 riders. Most, if not all, spend $1,000's of dollars on their bikes. We're a group of riders in our 50's and 60's. You really think I'm going to bolt? SMH. Managerial Staff is unprofessional,...
Read moreAfter looking for places that serve brunch on my visit to Scottsdale over the weekend, we chose DD.
Taking a Lyft there, those visit using rideshare should know that Daily Dose is located within a building with a streetside entrance—so it would be wise to have your driver drop you off in the parking lot across the street, where the other old town restaurant and shops are that open later than they do, and walk across to the Dailu Dose.
We arrived early, and were seated promptly. Although friendly and accommodating, our server was quite slow and could have perhaps been more informative of their menu (as we had to ask for certain basic things like the types of coffee they served—to which we were then given a drink menu). However, I gave full stars considering there is currently a hiring shortage in the F&B industry and they shortly were slammed with servicing other diners while we were there.
The food was delicious and fulfilled the promise of offering a good, flavorful brunch selection.
They have fruit, breakfast meats, potatoes, and breads. Fresh squoze fruit juices, and cold and hot coffees. They offer alcoholic mixed beverages, including coffee. The amaretto spiked one being my favorite.
Good service, full menu, opens early, centrally located (as far as their Scottsdale location). A hungry vacationers...
Read moreFood is great. Sucks that’s all that’s good. We were forgotten about by everyone who came to our table. First server brought us waters and took our drink order then he forgot about us. What looked to be an AM brought us our drinks apologized and took our food order and I ordered a shot of espresso. I had to ask the barista for the espresso personally from the barista 10 minutes later when she walked by and I hadn’t gotten it. When she dropped it off a second later she asked my boyfriend what he was drinking then walked away when she found out it wasn’t a refillable drink without getting his order for another. A second manager came to check on us a bit later and he was finally able to order another drink. 5 minutes later the first manager came back and remembered my espresso when he saw the empty cup. The first server finally came back around to clear our plates but we had to ask the manager for the check 10 minutes after the server disappeared with the empty plates because he got distracted yet again and never came back. The restaurant was about half full when we got there and had emptied out when we left so it wasn’t a lack of staff there were like 10 of them in the front alone.
I feel bad for the kitchen staff. Their great food is tainted by the lack of service. Maybe I’ll order pickup. Won’t...
