Was in town for a hospitality conference. Our group stayed here. The staff was welcoming and attentive. There are areas of improvement; understanding parking and where to park. The hotel allotted parking area is at the very bottom of the mall parking next door. It is confusing and hard to find without help. The stairwell to reach it is open to any level and is frankly creepy and feels unsafe if you are alone. There are three restaurants that are not all open at the same time, and you can wander looking for them if you are tired and miss the map tucked over by the elevators. Being shown at check-in would be helpful. My shower took 5 minutes to warm up (I timed it), such as a waste of water. My colleague's door had lock issues, with multiple keys issued and a clicking that kept her awake all night. The room was beautiful and full of gadgets, a glass shower looking into the bedroom, which had an electric shade, an electric shade for the big picture window looking outside. It took several minutes to discover which switches turned on which light (wandering the room in the dark when first checking in) still didn't find all of them. A display of top shelf booze, mad it feel more like Vegas than Arizona. Overall, the stay was enjoyable but could have been extraordinary.

We went to Seven mainly because I read that they serve house-made potato chips, which I’ll go anywhere for. I was also under the impression that this is mostly a bar. So we were pleasantly surprised to find a full menu of shareables, salads, mains, desserts, and excellent dinner service. We started with the chips, even before the drinks (which we never do), which come with the charred onion dip. They were good but I suggest making them a little thinner. The dip was excellent, so we kept the extra to use with our mains. The braised short ribs with mashed potatoes were excellent, as was the grapefruit-glazed salmon with cauliflower purée. I especially liked the crispy skin, which was served as the presentation side. They had a good selection of reasonably priced wines, which we always appreciate. The honey cake and multi-layer chocolate cake were great finales. The restaurant itself is sprawling and spacious and dimly lit. It’s a great place to go with a group, but we were also comfortable as a four-top. I’ve heard there is a great view along the west side before dark, but we also enjoyed the view after dark. Had dinner at SEVEN and had a great time! Our server Avery was outstanding and had wonderful recommendations to our table. To start we had the onion dip and honestly the homemade chips made that dish !! For entrees, my group ordered the blue corn Caesar salad, the giant meatball(seriously it’s huge), street corn pasta, short ribs and to finish- the churro dessert. The elder millennial martini and the old fashioned was phenomenal- I would definitely go back for a girls night and try a few of their other cocktails as well! All in all the food and drinks were really good, I’d love to go back to try more things. My one complaint is that there are so.many.tvs. I wish I could’ve been able to look out a window for the view without 3 different tv reflections. It felt like I was in a sports bar with good food.

Second visit to Seven. First time was wonderful. Last night, unbelievably bad. Server was possibly overwhelmed but not attentive or even competent. Would take one drink order & walk away leaving other guests waiting for 15 minutes to place their drink order.

One person in our party wanted a light dinner bc we were dining at 8pm. Server said he’d get from downstairs restaurant, no problem. GM delivered shrimp cocktail by dropping paper to go bag on the table and insisted the hues couldn’t have it served and wouldn’t provide a plate and cutlery. A simple no we don’t have shrimp Cocktail or communication that it was prohibited would have been great. $11 per shrimp, 4 ordered and then advised not to be eaten in Seven.

Umami chicken which I had before and loved was so over cooked - the knife provided wouldn’t cut. They remade and second was also overcooked.

The music was too loud to converse, the server was way over his head and also told he couldn’t transfer to work at Luna, the food wasn’t prepared properly, the shrimp debacle, waiting 15 minutes just to Order a drink AFTER the server took my friend’s order and abruptly walked away (we were ordering the same drinks btw but he left before we could say make it 2), the attitude and attire of the unprofessional GM, and the whole experience make me wish I could give a zero.

GM needs training- or maybe an off night but last night she had zero business in the hospitality industry. Another manager was friendly & tried to be helpful. Bussers were fast & courteous. First experience was great but Saturday night at...

Where do I start? I made a reservation on OpenTable. We waited almost 15 minutes after we were seated before someone came to the table and it wasn’t a server. It was a manager asking us if we’ve been waited on…..

We ordered a bottle of wine from the manager which took another 15 minutes to get. We also ordered an appetizer which didn’t arrive until five minutes before our entrees arrived. The manager brought out the appetizer said that he would comp the appetizer because it was so delayed. After being seated for 25 minutes, we received water. It was just one bad service situation after another. Here’s what I don’t understand… There were two managers on the floor who did nothing but look at their phones. The staff seem to be so uninformed. When an actual waiter did hit our table, he came up and said what would we would like to order this evening. I asked him what is your name ? He said oh sorry I forgot to introduce myself.

This is the second time I have been to this restaurant and the first time was a similar experience. We did order the spinach dip appetizer, which was quite good. We ordered the short ribs and salmon dish. The short ribs were overcooked but the salmon was prepared well.

The views are beautiful. So are the views of other rooftop restaurants in Scottsdale, where the food and service is above and beyond and at the same price point.

The frosting on the cake was when I received an email from OpenTable telling me that I was a no-show. So I guess they couldn’t even get...

Do NOT go here for a holiday lunch. I visited Seven with my family for Mother's Day lunch and it was pretty horrible. For the price of the lunch for a special occasion, our entire party was very disappointed. The only great thing about our meal was the view. The buffet lunch was boring, overheated, had few options, and we were all worried we might get food poisoning from the seafood. There were hardly any special options. The crab legs weren’t cut enough to actually get any meat out of them so those were all wasted as we couldn’t actually open them, the oysters were flat and scrawny, the mussels all looked dried out. I went to the omelette station where their menu on the table stated they had egg whites which I was told they didn’t have when I tried to order them. There was basically an egg/waffle station, a salmon/prime rib station, a dessert counter with unappealing and few selections, and a main buffet with options you could get at a motel for the most part. They offered free mimosas for moms. We were sat at our table and left to figure out what to do next, no explanation until our server came over. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough which was very sad as it was supposed to be a special day and a special meal and the whole thing was disappointing. If this is an example of what kind of food they offer there, I wouldn’t recommend it as a restaurant either, we won’t be going back. The staff was also pretty unfriendly. Utter fail for a...
