Came here on a Saturday around noon with my husband. We bought beer from the liquor store across the street because we read that it's BYOB. Our server told us that the kitchen would need 10 minutes to be set up for lunch service. This was fine with us since it takes us that long to decide on what to order haha. We noticed people around us were eating toast and eggs so we assumed that the restaurant could only prepare breakfast until they could set up for lunch. We looked on Yelp and decided on lobster mac and cheese and the seafood paella. My huband also ordered the New England clam chowder. Everything was super scrumptious. My only complaint was that the clam chowder didn't have that much clam in it. It was like digging for the little morsels of gold. The seafood paella had lots of seafood and just a little bit of rice, which I liked. There was a whole half lobster which was so sweet. The lobster mac and cheese we thought would be an appetizer but it was huge with lots of lobster. It was so good with tabasco sauce. We barely finished. The service was great. If we ever visit seaside heights again we'll definitely come back.

PJ's Place was chosen for our dinner solely based on it's proximity to where we were staying and it's on-line reviews. The appearance of PJ's on the outside did cause some trepidation because it looked like a mom/pop place that possibly just had traditional seafood fare. The inside decor is very basic as well: clean, neat, but basic. However, this restaurant lends support to the adage, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." The menu was varied and extensive. Our entree choices included seared tuna steak, a broccoli rabe pasta dish with shrimp and scallops, and calamari. Not only did everything taste great but the presentation was artful as well. Chosen desserts were tiramisu and peanut butter chocolate mousse. They received kudos as well. Our server, Christine, was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. She forewarned us that the restaurant was cash only but added that an ATM was available next door. The cash only policy was the only drawback to the restaurant in my opinion. The staff also told us how to get to NYC using nearby public transportation! Friendly and helpful. I'd definitely return.

If you’re in Seaside Heights and craving seafood, PJ’s Place is the spot. Everything we had was unbelievably fresh and cooked to perfection. The mussels were tender and flavorful, the lobster was sweet and succulent, and the pasta underneath soaked up every bit of that incredible sauce. Even the bread deserves a mention—it was bar none the best I’ve had, and dipping it into their rich, buttery sauces was pure heaven. From start to finish, the meal was outstanding. The portions are generous, the flavors are spot on, and you can truly taste the quality in every bite. PJ’s Place isn’t just the best seafood restaurant in Seaside Heights—it’s one of the best I’ve been to, period. Highly recommend making this a must-stop on your Jersey Shore trip!

Went to PJ's on final night of vacation (Aug 26th) for seafood dinner based on recommendation of local Seaside resident. Nothing fancy, but family owned restaurant was clean & food looked really delicious. Frequented by many local Seaside residents, but prepare to wait if you have a larger party of 6 or more. Some outdoor seating available if you don't mind heat or occasional flies wanting to join the party. Wife & I ordered their non traditional seafood paella & son in law ordered poached lobster. We also tried fried calamari appetizer. Reasonable bill came to $175 for 5 adults & 2 small kids and they include 18% gratuities for party of 6 or more. Now the negatives.... Waitress was clueless and would never have tipped her close to 18% if not included. Did not offer water, waited forever for a drink refill, no shell bucket or utensils to crack lobster had we not had to ask for all of the above. Fried calamari portion was 50% tentacle's and not very tender. Paella with 1/2 lobster was $26.00 each, nice & spicy but lobsters were way too small (maybe 2lb) and empty. Poached lobster was more like $32.00 and was not cooked properly. Overall, food was way over rated & service was terrible. Would not go back to this...

We read the reviews on this restaurant and were very excited to get yummy seafood at the Jersey shore. Unfortunately, this place was a major disappointment. I ordered surf and turf, I think it was the most expensive item on the menu and my steak was not cooked to well done as I requested. My husband had the strip steak and ordered medium well and it wasn't cooked enough either. I asked for extra vegetables and no potatoes. I received potatoes...Our waitress wasn't apologetic at all, just said "I told them well done and no potatoes, I can have them cook it more". She took both our steaks back to the kitchen. We finally received our meals back and they were barely cooked any different. At this point she asked if we wanted to have them cooked more? No, we didn't feel like waiting even longer. 2 times and they still couldn't cook it right, we gave up... The vegetables were soggy and everything was flavorless. A waste of $80...Our waitress was not attentive at all, didn't even refill our drinks once. Very disappointed that we wasted that much money and that experience on our one night in Seaside when there's so many other places we could've tried. ...
