McDonald's — Restaurant in Seaside

If I could give 0 stars I would. Walked into this McDonald's and the lady talking the orders sneezed into both of her hands while taking the order of the lady in front of us. Then argued with us when we asked for a double cheeseburger saying we must have meant a McDouble. As she is typing our order into the computer she has a string of snot drip out of her nose and she waits for it to be about 2 1/2 inches out of her nose before she sniffs it back up. Then when she can't figure out what a double cheeseburger is the manager calls someone from the back to come put it into the computer for her. Then she hands us our cups grabbing them by the rim with her hands. Yes, that's right, the hands she just sneezed into. Did I mention she had saliva spray patterns on her shirt from sneezing? We asked for new cups, but this isn't were our horror story ends. We sat down to eat knowing that at least the sick woman wasn't making our food. As we sat there by the window we saw the manager from behind the counter come out and talk to what we assume is his family. Then he went into the parking lot and picked up some pieces of trash with his bare hands. Then he casually walked back inside and behind the counter and started making someone's coffee, scooping fries, and handling food coming from the line for the customers in the drive through. It's safe to assume that the employees here do not have to be certified to handle food. I wouldn't handle food in my own home with the carelessness that we observed here. I thought I gave this place a bad review before but I can't seem to find it now.

This place has improved drastically over the years, for awhile I honestly thought there was a gas leak in the kitchen causing the poor employees to constantly get my order wrong, this is no longer the case. Whether it's new staff or they fixed the gas leak, they almost always get my order correct now. It's always been good and fresh, aside from a few times where the fries weren't at peek freshness but from the mostly good experiences i've had as of late it's completely forgiveable.

Before, I would ask for extra onion and they would either always make it plain, or just put onion on there, I don't think asking for extra onion is the hardest thing to understand, but I think there may have been communication issues among staff.

It's not exactly the fault of the restaurant but there tend to be quite a few homeless people who hang around in and around the store, but I've never once been bothered by someone aside from just a friendly greeting.

The drive-thru can be a nightmare sometimes but that's the fault of Oregon drivers, they are the worst! It seems like people like to block off the parking lot instead of wrapping around the curb like a smart person, again not the fault of Mcdonalds, they've put down arrows to indicate where you should be going, though not a lot of people like to pay...

The primary reason I'm writing this review is because of the excellent customer service I received from an older staff person, whose name I think was pronounced "Jay nese" during a very busy time.

Stopped in bc McDonald's is one of the places my 92-year-old father is willing to eat when traveling and it was close to the City Hall that we needed to stop by for an appointment. Staff was maxed out between drive-through orders and in-store customers who needed make special orders or ask questions about their order. I was in line and even while moving back-and-forth very quickly to help her teammates fulfill orders, she made eye contact with those of us at the register waiting to make sure we knew that we were seen. She was very gracious and courteous, apologized for the brief wait (less than 4 mins) that we had, then took my order after answering the particular questions that I needed to ask on behalf of my elderly parents.

What I noticed was how supportive the staff team was with each other while they were filling orders nonstop. This was a very busy McDonald's but the energy was also very good. the store was also very clean. There was a staff member cleaning while we were there keeping things at the drink station fresh and sweeping. I just wanted to compliment the team.
