B&Z sits on top of Queen Ann Hill on the main thoroughfare. This part of the neighborhood can be a parking challenge, but any cross street leads into the regular neighborhood where it is easier to find a spot. The atmosphere is relaxed for dining and socializing with friends and family. B&Z was similar to most restaurants that cater to the American pallet with their version of Mexican food. Although a few dishes bring that south of the border style that I love. Such as the chicken fajitas and if you like hot spicy chili's there's one on the plate! The first bite and my mouth was on fire! I just wish the onion and peppers were cut up more. Very difficult to fill a tortilla as is. The salsa that was on the table wasn't what I liked. Very watery with no flavor. My friends liked it, but I prefer a thicker salsa that sticks to the chips such as Pico de Gallo. Everyone else had burritos that would please anyone that likes the American stylized version. They looked a little dry for my taste, but every restaurant seems to have a different take on them. The one area they need to improve is cleanliness. Not that the place would fail an inspection, but their staffing at least the night I went was the cook and waiter. So tables were not cleared up after people had left. A comment for parents with toddlers... Please be mindful of the others that are dining. Nobody wants to sit and look at nor walk through your kids food thrown all over the floor. Clean it up people! Overall, the food was above average. I was a little surprised at the pricing when Mexican food is usually a bargain, but in today's world it is what it is...
Read moreMe and my sister found this place after looking for a home cooked meal. We went in around 9 and the service was great from the beginning. The space is cozy and has a fireplace and tvs and homey touches everywhere. We both had been craving ceviche but not just a tostadas worth. We asked and they brought us a whole plate and let us share with chips. so freaking good! the ceviche was so fresh and flavorful. She got the sopes which were house made which is not common if you go to most now a days. I’ll be taking my mother when she comes. I got the chile verde w rice and beans. We also ordered horchata. I take my horchata very seriously. I have never had a more creamy steeped with canela horchata ever. It’s a must have trust me. Our server which I think may have been the owner ❤️ said it was the house special. All of it was amazing and the price was great for two people dinner with all we ordered. They then gave us fried churros on the house which was so nice of them. lt is now my only recommendation for Mexican...

Arriving just minutes before lunch was ending, the gentlemen told us we could order off the lunch menu even without asking.
The complementary nachos with dips came before we were ready to order.
The gentlemen was very warm, friendly and jolly...even when we didn't order many dishes as it was a late lunch. No 🤨😒🙄, change in attitude or level of attentiveness as you may see elsewhere.
We paid the bill at the front counter and were heading out when the gentlemen flagged us down to let us know we overpaid an extra $XX amount as the bills may have been stuck together.
And it's with those types of kind-hearted souls we encounter every now and then that embraces us to do the same to others.
Let these honesty and warm-hearted actions be...
