I used to like coming here but today was the last time. The service was absolutely, unnecessarily rude. After ordering I asked for ice water. I was told there’s a water station, I said, “is there ice?” Cashier said, “No, but the water is icy cold” and basically moved on to the next person. So I went over to the water station and there were small plastic cups, so I kindly asked the barista for a glass pint glass. She said, “for water?” I said “yes” - she handed me one but thought it was necessary to say “we don’t actually give glasses out for water”. And turned away. Now, I’m assuming this is a “business rule” but both of these workers were incredibly rude in their delivery. To this rule I say this - I just paid $16 for a 4”x4” piece of avocado toast and I can’t have ICE or a GLASS? Not to mention that the tables are so close together it’s like walking down an airplane aisle with a large carry on - it’s so uncomfortable, and nearly every seat is a single person with a laptop open. I mean, this place has just gotten awful. Isn’t anyone in management paying attention? The coffee and pastries are very nice but there are lots of other options....
Read moreI absolutely love coming here, but I don't always love the prices. Luckily you get what you pay for when I do stop by. Even better, the insides are open and cozy enough to bring a laptop and get some work done while enjoying your meal.
The lines get long, but they have several places you can review the menu. You will need this time to review the menu as they have many detailed items to pick from. Even when I got to the counter I still needed time lol. I'll just have to come back again and again to get all they I want. Lol.
Fyi, yes the brunch is a bit pricey, but it's filling and comes with a nice selection of yummy foods. So worth it. I do wish it also came with some sort of drink included, but I guess we can't have it all.
If you don't feel like spending an arm and a leg for a full meal. A simple drink and pastry will forsure still put a smile on your face. Be sure to enjoy the view of the surroundings as is located in a beautiful upper queen anne neighborhood with a lot to do in the area. A great place to come from a brunch date. Once I came during a street market so I got to...
Read moreI have very quickly become addicted to Cafe Hagen for 3 main reasons: the seating, food, and the coffee. The North Queen Anne location has a modern Scandinavian design with lots of wood and plants, energetic house music always playing, and a wide selection of indoor and outdoor seating to chose from. They offer LOTS of food including quiches, sandwiches, fun pastries, skillets, just to name a few. I ordered the sausage breakfast bun which included a Sunnyside up egg, havarti cheese, garlic aioli, arugula, and an unexpected sausage link rather than a patty, but it was a delicious link so I wasn't mad. What really sold me on this cafe is the coffee options, and especially since I'm an espresso guy I was blown away when I found out they offer 5-6 different roasts for espresso!! I tried the Burundi and Sumatra, both were natural processes, and both equally got me emotional. They of course offer their roasts for retail which rangers from $22-30 for 12oz which is fair pricing for the quality. Overall, service was is solid, coffee is life-changing, and can't wait to...
