I got the #3 sampler here, which included 1 quesabirria taco, 1 regular birria taco, and 1 mulita. This was my first time trying birria tacos, so I was pretty excited to try these out I thought these were pretty fantastic Out of the three, I thought the weakest one was the regular birria one. This one was pretty much just a regular soft taco with beef inside. I wasn't a huge fan of the taco shell, as it was a little soft. In terms of the filling, I did really like the amount of beef in there, but I thought it was kind of dry and chewy. The beef being like this was something I noticed in all 3 tacos - but it was the most noticeable in this one I really liked the quesabirria taco - that extra layer of cheese did so much for the flavor. For one, it provided another layer between the taco shell and the cheese, and second, the cheese itself was really good and there was a lot of it. Because of this, the beef inside just tasted better than the regular birria - and the shell on the outside didn't feel as soft as the first one. My favorite of the three was the mulita, which came as two small tortillas with the filling inside. the reason I liked this the most was because it was the crispiest of the three - there were actual crunchy parts to this tortilla that weren't there in the other ones. This one also had cheese like the birria, but due to the slight advantage in crunchiness it's my favorite Of course, what really brings this entire meal together is the consommé. This is just absolutely fantastic - and is the best part of the meal by far. The broth is salty, flavorful, and just adds so much to everything it coats. When dipping one of the tacos in it, I would let the consommé wash over the beef that remains, essentially liquidifying it, and this made the beef so much juicier and changed it from dry to flowing with the juices of the broth. It's hard to describe how much this enhanced the two tacos and the mulita. There's also a pretty generous amount of it Another thing I have to mention is the spicy salsa - which was incredibly flavorful. really loved that The only thing I would really say as a negative (other than the beef that I mentioned before) is that these tacos/mulita really aren't crunchy at all. I wish the tortillas would've been fried more to really get that crispiness that I prefer in tacos - an oil coating on the outside would've also helped. I also usually don't mention this in my reviews, but the person at the front desk was amazing! For the price of about 15 dollars, I would say this is relatively decent - however, while the portion size looks big, it's not really that filling Overall, pretty decent tacos with an all-time good broth. 9/10

[Double edit at the bottom is most recent haha] Insanely good birria tacos, very juicy meat and delicious birria broth. Cannot wait to come back, definitely going to try the birria burrito next time oh my gosh. Service was very good, got my food quick and it was so high quality. Very nice staff too. EDIT: Went back four days later and ordered one meal to dine in and one for take out for my girlfriend and they did both very quickly, both were very delicious, and when I asked if they could print me the receipt when I realized I needed it to see the breakdown of prices, they made sure I got it despite it being buried by other orders on their ordering device. Awesome service! Double edit: A couple months after my initial two reviews, I have unfortunately come back to amend my review. Without a doubt this establishment was a strong 5 star for me in the first month of its opening. I was extremely satisfied those first two times, truly loving my experience. After returning another 4 times over the last two months, I have sadly found that the quality has dropped to an extent. The recent times I have gotten the birria tacos they have been overly greasy and soggy, a far cry from the crispy crunchy outside of the past. The flavor of the tacos themselves as well of the broth were still up to par, and still good, but they definitely didn’t give me the same sense of freshness as they used to. I recently got the burrito was well, which is solid and a lot of food, but the texture leaves some to be desired. Maybe I’ve been unlucky, but I am choosing to reduce to 4 stars as of now due to this experience. Hope to see a return to form of one of my most beloved spots in u district.

This place honestly feels like a true hidden gem for Mexican food! I’m not Latino, so I’m not super familiar with Latin American cuisine, but this was my first time learning about a soup dish called birrieria. It was slightly spicy with a rich, flavorful broth—totally new to me. Eating it with tacos was a completely different experience, in the best way. The tacos were packed with meat, so it felt absolutely worth the price. I also liked that they served cucumber on the side—it was a nice touch. The quesadilla was also generously filled with meat. We ordered just two menu items between the two of us, and we were completely full. They served the birrieria broth with the meal, and if you’re looking to try something new, I’d definitely recommend it. I visited at 3:50 PM, which was technically outside of their posted hours, but they still took my order—and I really appreciated that kindness. It was also interesting to see how many people started coming in after 4 PM—it definitely seems like this place is about to get really popular. Overall, parking was easy, and the inside of the restaurant was clean and well-kept. The woman who runs the place explained what birrieria is, and that made me feel even more connected to the food and the restaurant. She was incredibly kind and welcoming. I’ll definitely be coming back!
