I walked in, saw all the ingredients set out and I thought, wow this looks great. I'll be able to have great mexican food close to work now. Wrong. I ordered my usual steak burrito, paid the higher than average price for it and left. It was terrible. I ate half of it, felt gross the rest of the day and remembered it was a bad place. The other day I was super hungry, wanting mexican again and I said to myself, surely it couldn't have been that bad, it must have been me. I ordered the same thing and I watched this time. I was a tourist looking for lunch in downtown Seattle. A customer recommended this place from their sidewalk bistro table, so we decided to check it out. It's a small space not conducive to dining in. Carne asada salad for my partner, chorizo burrito for me. I barely finished mine, but the salad had to be saved for later. The food was utterly fantastic. Everything was laid out Subway-style, so every order is customized. The two folks behind the counter were quietly friendly and robotically efficient. Went to have some lunch with a friend and the lady was very rude from start to finish. She was yelling at the cook, yelling at us, only gave my friend a table spoon of guacamole and didn’t say it was extra. I had the carnitas tacos which had cinnamon??? I have no idea how to describe what spice it was but the closest thing was cinnamon. The carnitas were extremely dry, the rice and beans had no seasoning, and the verde was like a “”splash””.
