TLDR: One of the kindest coffee experiences I've had in the city, and at half the price! Finding a nice coffee place is a frustrating journey. A nice cup of coffee takes in a variety of factors like the quality of beans, the machine, how the water is poured, the milk, the mood of the barista at the time, etc. etc. For me many experiences have soured because one of these aspects is wrong in some way, or even worse- a mediocre experience for $7 +tip. I was floored today, not just from the amazing customer service offered from James and Laura behind the counter, but that the food/coffee order tasted amazing for the price I put into it. I went from having a hard morning to my entire day being made, and I am immensely grateful to the workers here who made a thirty second interaction all the better! The food is amazing, the customer service is incredibly welcoming, and you won't go wrong for a well made Americano that is less than $3(and tastes great to boot!) James, I have an open tab that I intend to pay. I want to thank you and Laura again for making my entire day just a bit brighter!

I make it a point to try new cafes on the weekends, so I've tried most of the ones in LQA, and I keep finding myself wanting to go back to Cafe Zingaro (my only repeat one, actually). The staff is super kind and gives great recommendations based on what you're looking for. I really like their Cubano Latte if you normally drink Cold Brew but are looking for something just a little sweet. The number of unique drinks Cafe Zingaro offers makes going to other cafes that only offer standard menu items a chore. Their Cold Brew is one of my favorites in Seattle. I also tried a mochi cupcake, which was good but very sweet. Price is also very reasonable for Seattle ($9 for the small coffee and dessert). The employees were wearing masks which I appreciate during a time when no one else really bothers.

I’ve been here before but it’s been a while. While in a field trip with work my friends wanted some coffee. I got a hot chocolate and a piece of banana bread! The gentleman made me on onion as a design as we were talking and laughing about my friends drink design! She had a heart but we said it almost looked like a pumpkin or a onion because an onion has layers! We all giggled about our comments about the heart that when he made my drink he made it an onion! He warmed up my banana bread and brought it to our table! The hot chocolate was very good but the banana bread was AWESOME! Very moist and a lot of banana flavor. I think both a 16 oz cocoa and the banana bread cost a little over $7. Which is pretty decent for downtown! Much cheaper than Starbucks and not a large chain!

Before moving here, I had this idea of what most Seattle cafes would be. Expensive, boasting, hipster-like, a little impersonal.

Zingaro is none of these things.

The drinks are delicious, unique, and affordable. I cannot find a better deal for americanos and lattes; they are my go to. The food is also great and comes from other local businesses. But what really puts it all together is the people. James and Alyx are two of the most personable baristas I've ever met. They always strike up a good conversation, and on slower days I've found myself talking to them way after I've finished my drink. During these crazy times where everyone is stuck at home and social distancing is required, these interactions honestly make things that much better. I don't go to cafes as frequently as I used to, especially since I got myself an espresso machine for home, but I always find an excuse...

I got an iced vanilla latte with a chorizo burrito. Both were fantastic and tasted delicious, kept me filled until lunch! The barista was friendly and I enjoyed the atmosphere. The menu is very clear and everything is out on clear display of what is available. My only “negative” feedback is that it seems a bit behind with technology and the menu doesn’t include 20/24 oz for drinks. I hope to see a website to be able to order ahead of time or partnerships with other companies (though, I heard they are very irritating to work with from a business perspective lol) or to just have a website with the full menu available so I can see my options before going in. Would also be nice to see some rewards system that many cafes around here partner with to incentivize customers to come back. I can tell it is a smaller business though and that is likely what keeps prices...
