Hot Mama’s Pizza had been on my radar for a while—one of those spots people rave about in Seattle's pizza scene. After trying a handful of other places, though, it slowly slid down my list.
The vibe is chill, and it definitely has that classic late-night pizza joint feel. Whether you’re sober or in the mood for a post-bar snack, it’s one of those places that will get the job done, especially if you’ve had a few drinks in you.
It’s not a fancy spot by any means,— grab and go. With the option to sit at a few select tables outside.. The décor is straightforward and casual, and the staff is friendly enough, though not much to write home about. You're not going here for an experience—you're going for pizza, and in that sense, it delivers.
Now, the pizza itself. The crust is decent—not too thick, not too thin—but definitely nothing that’ll blow your mind. The pesto sauce helped this slice — a lot of cheese. If you're looking for something unique or outstanding, you might want to keep looking.
The pizza does shine when you’re in the mood for something filling, easy, and satisfying. It’s the kind of place that feels perfect after a night out when you just need something hot, greasy, and easy to eat.
Hot Mama’s is a solid backup option in Seattle, but it's not going to top your pizza list. It might even slide to the bottom after you’ve tried some of the city’s better options.
Would I go back? Sure, if I'm in the area or craving a quick fix. But there are definitely better options out there. I would say give it a try — everyone has...
Read moreDON’T CALL AND ORDER FROM THIS PLACE, STAFF IS EXTREMELY RUDE!!!
My partner and I just got off the phone after calling in around 10pm, asking if we could order a pizza for carry out. We decided to call to also make sure we could order, considering the store closes at 11pm. The guy who picked up the phone immediately huffed and said, “we aren’t doing pick up right now,” in a very disrespectful tone. Understandably, since the establishment closed in an hour, we asked if it was, “okay to just come in and order.” Then, whoever was on the phone said in a demeaning manner, “if there’s still slices left….and I don’t know if there’s gonna be any slices.” Since we have never ordered here before, we were confused about the slices, so we asked, “Well, then can we not just come in and order a whole pizza?” To which they snapped with, “Do you really need me to explain to you how to order a pizza here?” We decided to hang up right away because we weren’t going to deal with that kind of energy. Never have we ever had such a bad experience ordering food from anyone. Wouldn’t recommending calling and ordering at this place. A shame because the...
Read moreI've been a customer of this place for years and just had a shockingly bad experience this past weekend. I placed a pickup order for a whole pizza about 2 hours in advance (as I have always done). Except this time when I took the pizza home and finally got around to eating it, it was burnt beyond belief. In all my times ordering from here it was never burnt like this.
I called the next morning (as they were closed when I was going to call the night of) and was met with a very strange phone call. The man on the phone told me they couldn't process a refund as their policy requires it to be day of? Which isn't listed anywhere on the website when you place a pickup order. Also he kept saying they needed proof it was burnt. When I told him have the photos and would be willing to send them somewhere he said "there was no need to do that"??? So I guess I'll just post them here then.
Really disappointed I've been such a longtime customer here and I had to flush 25 bucks down the drain for an inedible pizza because their customer service has no intention of fixing...
