This place is truly amazing and definitely one of a kind!!! We tried Monorail on our last day of our Seattle trip and we wish we had tried it our first day. I tried an affogato first from here and I was in heaven when I tasted it. I then decided I wanted to try an actual coffee drink from here, so I went up to the window again and this time ordered an iced caramel macchiato. Once again, I was in heaven! The barista also talked me into trying a "chubbie" which are their homemade chocolate chip cookies and it was so tasty!! I told her I wish there was a location in Chicago! I was also very happy to see that they had different milk substitutes, such as soy, hemp, and almond milk. The baristas were all very friendly and the prices for everything was very reasonable and a lot cheaper than Starbucks!! Plus, the coffee tastes so much better! Will most definitely be coming back here on my next Seattle trip! At least I can say I've tried the number one U.S. coffee shop you must try...
Read moreBurnt creme latte was definitely my favorite coffee from a recent trip to the Seattle area. So much so that I got it twice over just the weekend stay out there.
I rarely get lattes since I typically like a stronger/deeper coffee but I read good things about this drink that were definitely not wrong. It was pretty much the perfect balance of sweet, actual flavour, & coffee bitterness. I prefer the iced version mainly because I pretty much always get cold versus hot drinks. But the hot version still tasted good.
My gf tells me the service was pretty great too since I had to wait in the car because there was like no parking. It is downtown afterall. So just keep that in mind.
Small tip is to make sure you give your drink a good stir or shake because the sweetness tends to settle at the bottom.
In addition to checking out more coffee places in Seattle next time I'll still be getting at least one of these drinks...
Read moreThis is an outdoor, walk-up coffee stand in downtown Seattle, and this is what I think the Seattle coffee experience is, this and Bauhaus for the indoor and sidewalk, but that's another review. This little coffee stand won my heart and my mind over 10 years ago and I still smile ear to ear and nod my head up and down when someone thanks me for suggesting this coffee for them while they were downtown. I used to live in walking distance, for me, I am what you call fit ;-)...and I would frequent this spot often. The conversation with the older man who was always the barista when I had gone there was something out of a great book.... I love his accent, and take on life, very interesting man from what I know and gathered. When the drinks were made, he thanked us for stopping by and wished us a good day. he was consistent, the drinks were consistent, and the place is still there 10 years...
