I ordered the Orange Blossom sushi roll made-to-go. My food came out fairly quickly, it took maybe 5 minutes. I asked for no avocado because I'm allergic and they were very accommodating and nice- one of the staff even came over to check on us after we'd finished to make sure we enjoyed everything.
There are both self-service, and made-to-go options, with a variety of menu items differing in prices for those who have dietary restrictions and/or are on a budget. I ordered something a bit more expensive, so with my sushi roll (8 pieces) and my water it was about $25 (tip included). I was pretty satisfied with my food, the atmosphere was calming and it was very clean inside the restaurant. The restaurant shares a space with a cafe, and the seating accommodates both. It's a wide space and the chairs at the tables are wide-bodied and can be moved around, making the seating area accessible for everyone. There are also USB charging outlets/3-pronged outlets on the tables, so it's a good option for those who need to work or do something on their computer, or even charge their phone.
We walked from the summit convention center during ECCC, and it only took roughly 5 minutes. There is metered street parking (it's on a one-way street with parking on both sides), but most of it appeared occupied when we arrived, so if you can't immediately find parking, you'll need to find the closest garage or lot.
Overall, this place is a great option if you're craving sushi or want a quick...
Read moreThe service was amazing! I entered 30 minutes before closing, and they still served me. I was the only one there, so they were closing up. The lady helping me was one of the most friendly ladies I've ever met.
The location was a little conspicuous - it's an eatery inside like a larger hotel-looking building with dark windows so you can't really tell it's a restaurant inside.
The menu needs to be scanned to see in detail.
I tried the California roll with real crab meat ($13) and the salmon inferno roll ($17)
The California roll did have real crab meat, but it was a little hard to notice. There was only a little crab meat, and the flavor is already mild. It's had a little mayo and was not bad with soy sauce and wasabi. It was pretty filling, so it was okay for its price.
The salmon roll had wayyyyy too much eel sauce - I couldn't taste the salmon because of how overwhelming the eel sauce was. There was also way too much crunch. I couldn't tell if it was carrot or cucumber, but it was way too crunchy. It had salmon skin, but salmon skin has an easy-to-breakdown crunch whereas the veggie had a durable crunch I didn't like.
I think they might have had something else I might like and I maybe just ordered the wrong things.
The price for portion was fair.
I don't see this place as a 4.8 star restaurant, unfortunately. I really wanted to like it because of how friendly the lady was. Maybe you might...
Read moreDespite appearances being an almost convenience store/takeout setup, this place is better quality/value than most of the sushi places in the surrounding area. The main reason being the rice quality is notably better than average for US sushi spots, while the fish quality is great (as is typical for PNW sushi).
Having ordered from the buffet style bar, everything was somewhat rice heavy which is unsurprising considering you pay by weight, but also fine by me given the rice quality being as good as it is. If I had to ding something, it would be that all the pieces were pretty poorly constructed, all being a step away from totally falling apart. Also the buffet style bar was very lacking in options that weren't using spicy sauces.
Will definitely be back here in the future. It's not the best sushi in the city by any means, and but on an immediately local level I'd pick here as a casual lunch...
