Banh Mi sandwich was pretty disappointing overall and they messed up my order (wrong sauce). Remember to check it before you leave (had to walk back once I returned to the office). Doesn't taste like typical Banh Mi and flavors were not there. Bread (baguette) was pretty good. It was warm and crunchy on outside, while soft in the inside. Pickled cucumbers and carrots were more sour than expected at other vietnamese sandwich shops that I have been to. Expected them to be slightly sweet and sour. The pickles were sliced thin and very soft instead of the typical crunchy ones. Meatballs were on the salty side and had zero sweetness to it. Didn't seem like there was any teriyaki glaze (as shown in the photos). They were soft and average at best.

Wandered in here just after 10AM, they were open early which is convenient. Sandwiches are baguettes with a wide variety, I had the recommend number 1; Turkey Meatball with cucumbers, carrots, cilantro, spicy mayo, and more. It was great! It’s definitely a dye up from PotBelly/Subway, of which there are a number in this area, and in the same price range. Staff was directly and I had my sandwich in less than a minute from ordering, I’ll be back for sure.

I’ve only had the Meatball Banh Mi, but it’s so good I never feel the need to branch out. The people who work here are super nice. Their sister restaurant, Kudedon, is just up the street. I’ll admit, nine times out of ten I go there, but Pane Pane is a worthy choice for a quick lunch downtown. I just hope the owners open more of these creative gems.

"Gourmet Sandwich" ... on a French roll. The word "gourmet" is completely overused in the food world. Is this a bad sandwich? Not by any means. Is it the best sandwich I've ever had? No. Would I return? Sure. The flavor profiles of the two sandwiches I tried were good and they have a variety on the menu that seem intriguing. If I were to make a change as the business owner, I would make sure the bread that's used suits each flavor profiles. The French roll might be good for the banh mi, but the pesto with Italian meats would be better served on something like chibatta. Also, don't blast rap in the dining room. I get that the employees might enjoy it during the shift, but the rest of the dining...

So good. The meatball Bahn mi keeps me going back but the tuna with cheddar is my go-to when I need something different. My friends are more daring with some of the crazy varieties that include mascarpone on the sandwich or a BLT with feta cheese. They always rave, but I stick to my faves. The staff is great and the service is SUPER fast! Don't even discouraged if there is a line, they crank them out, all fresh made to order. They gave a punch card for a free cookie based on the $ amount you spend. Get it and go back again and again....
