Stopped by Tyger Tyger on our way to the Seattle Storm game earlier this week! They offer lots of vegan options on their menu!
All of the dishes we ordered embodied bold, original flavors. The Mushroom Tempura Bun was interesting, aesthetically gorgeous and mouth watering combination of flavors. One truly unique aspect to this dish was the tongue numbing sensation brought on by the peppercorns lol, leaving me feeling as if I'd just left the dentist lol. It wasn't bad, just weird, something I was unaccustomed to. The numbing sensation isn't something that would prevent me from ordering this dish in the future but nor is it an aspect that I would intentionally seek out.
The Carrot & Cabbage dumplings were to die for. You get one or two bites from each dumpling as the sauce coats the dumplings, providing the perfect accompaniment.
Last, the Silken Tofu with Mushroom Garlic. Yet another dish with impeccably deep rich flavor. I would strongly recommend you ask for a fork when eating this dish. The dish is very difficult to eat with the chopsticks, this due to the smoothness of the silken tofu and the rice being fluffy (and delicious) but had the rice perhaps been more sticky, it might have been easier to pair with the tofu for each bite (and that's not meant as a critique, but rather just an observation). We were stubborn and didn't want to let the tofu win haha, but honestly, we struggled so much with the chopsticks for this dish that it served as a serious detriment to enjoying it fully. Go with a fork, there's no shame :)
With the amazing depth of flavors these dishes provided, I can't wait to visit Tyger Tyger and experience what their other vegan options...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place since I pass by it all the time but food was too Americanized and very salty. The drinks were good though! Would come back just for drinks. They do not skimp the booze at all. For the table, we tried the vegetables of the day, pork dumplings, honey shrimp buns, crab fried rice and mala chicken.
The vegetables were our fav thing because it’s just garlic and chilis really, can’t go wrong. Second fav were the buns. They are quite sweet but I like that and chicken was crispy. Mala chicken was also super crispy but wow it was salty. I could only manage a few pieces. Also it was super dry. The dumplings had a very nice sauce. I enjoyed them but I didn’t find anything special about them. They were typical wonton style dumplings with scallions and chili oil. As for the soft shell crab fried rice, it was the least salty thing apart from the buns which weren’t salty at all. The crab was cooked perfectly. Super crispy and light but the rice was weird. Too much curry powder. Very dry rice. But we needed this rice to balance out the super salty chicken. Food didn’t taste authentic and flavor just didn’t hit the spot. I wouldn’t come back for the food. Espresso martini and the ‘stirred not...
Read moreI have eaten here 3 times. All 3 times, the food was delicious, service was wonderful and ambiance was lovely! In that sense I recommend! But the reason I am giving a less than stellar review is because I ate here on 8/3/23 and let's just say I got SICK afterwards. Apologies for the graphic details but it was "coming out both ends" SICK in the bathroom. No - I did not order any alcohol and no I didn't eat anywhere afterwards. I tried to call the restaurant to give them feedback but their voicemail was full. I then tried to email them the following day on 8/4/23 and a month later still NO RESPONSE! A professional business at least ACKNOWLEDGES a customer's feedback whether they agree or not. In all my research online any G.I. illness is from either food not being prepared properly or from the chefs not washing one's hands properly so I HOPE the restaurant shares this feedback with the staff. I tried to keep the experience private by emailing them but since no response I resorted to sharing online. Hope management reminds the staff on prepping food properly AND keeping clean (washing hands etc.) And hope management learns to attend to customer service by acknowledging customer...
