It’s rare that I’ll leave any review, especially a negative one. This review is based on dozens of visits over years. Sadly, I think this is one of many places that declined drastically during the pandemic and never recovered
Ingredients seem fine, decent quality. And I love that we have a smoothie place in the heart of the hill.
BUT. Nobody at Verve cares about the experience, and nobody is watching quality control.
I’ve had missing ingredients, inconsistent sizing, wrong toppings, different flavors in the same bowl on different occasions, and severely melted bowls, like mine today.
I never blame the staff when this stuff happens. The owners are responsible for maintaining standards in service and product. Here, the management/owners are clearly incompetent, checked out, or both.
It’s usually the case when a place is like this that the owners sit back and collect a profit while underpaying overworked staff and failing to provide the structure/support that staff needs to excel. People who don’t care about hospitality should not have hospitality businesses.
It sucks because some days the bowls are a 5, and others they’re a 2 at best. I’m gonna lay off visiting Verve for a while and hope they get...
Read moreI used to really enjoy this place 6 years ago. When I had an açaí craving last weekend, I visited and was extremely disappointed. I got the regular sized Verve Bowl for $12.50 (pretty standard price for an açaí bowl). The açaí was grainy, the strawberries and blueberries were sour, and the honey didn't pair well at all.
I’d much rather get the Açaí Primo from Jamba Juice (essentially the same as the Verve Bowl) for $11. Or even the Sambazon Açaí Bowls from AmazonFresh…
Lastly, the staff wasn't friendly or welcoming. They didn't acknowledge customers entering or leaving the store. I also noticed them passing judgmental looks on at their customers that did nothing to deserve it... This is an issue that needs to be brought up...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would, unfortunately. Upon entering WE greeted the cashier instead of being greeted, only to be left with a blank stare and no response. After ordering a green smoothie with kale and having a sip we were not satisfied with the texture or taste as the kale doesn’t blend well and is chunky and liquidy. Asking REN very politely to remake or refund us for a new smoothie, she and her coworker refused and told us wed have to buy another $10 smoothie. Not budging or trying to mend the problem. Very rude and in-accommodating staff. I would love to take down this review for an apology and refund.
