This review is based on my experience at Nandos. We were in town for the weekend. After convincing my husband to eat at Nando's we waited in line. It was Saturday night so I expect some level of waiting. I dont know if people had called ahead or requested pick up but some were seated before we were. After my husband's complaints we were then seated. We were told normally" booths are for bigger parties" but because of the wait they would accomadate. Go figure. We were also told one of the oven's had broken down. Wings were ok but whole chicken would be 40 minutes. We were also offered out door seating with heaters. LOL. After being seated (inside)we ordered from the table. No one visited the table during this time. For almost 40 minutes we sat waiting for the order. Again my husband voiced frustrations with the entire flow of the restaraunt. We watched over and over again folks comming in for pick up,etc. Not one item from our order made it to the table. WE finally get the manager who at first could not find the order. After locating(Food) in a restaraunt.. Our order was brought to the table. We were told our order appeared to be take out. Well that explains it...
Here is why that did not explain it..
Most take out moved faster than orders inside. We watched folks who walked in picked up orders by name and left. Twent to twentyfive minutes tops. We sat adjacent to orders being picked up(full view). Not one person called my name for a pickup order!
Lastly, I spent $50.00 for as follows:
Half chicken (2) sides portugese rice 9 wings with mash and cucumber salad mac and cheese & Peri sauce garlic bread
What the manager brought over was everything except:
Mash & Peri sauce, silverware requested but not recieved. I fished out silverware on my own whilst one of the greeters restocked. I fished out napkins as well to atleast wipe my hands from eating the peri sauce.
Starvng and frustrated by the time the food arrived I did not care that it was warm I didnt bother with the mention of items missing I figured what was done was done.
Peri Chicken and rice were a plus as well as mac and cheese. Really all I can review based on not...

Where The Fire Began PERi-PERi is the heart and soul of Nando’s. Its story is our story. For centuries the people of Southeast Africa have used PERi-PERi to bring fire to their food. It is in Mozambique’s rich soil and blistering sunshine that the African Bird’s Eye Chilli grows into its fiery best. When Portuguese explorers arrived there, they were enchanted by its flavour. They added a squeeze of lemon and a kick of garlic and turned PERi-PERi into a very well-travelled spice. Which is how, many years later it ended up in Rosettenville, Johannesburg.
One afternoon in 1987, two friends went for lunch at a humble Portuguese eatery. As their meal drew to a close, they knew they’d tasted something that had to be shared. PERi-PERi was about to make one more journey – from Rosettenville...
Read moreDC-area Nando's finally comes to the Baltimore area with this mall location. The chicken is the star attraction, deliciously tender with its peri-peri spice-rub. Sides are surprisingly good-- we tried peas and Portuguese rice, both very decent. There's a reasonably priced wine selection touted to compliment the spicy chicken, and the crisp Portuguese white we had did just that.
It's a pretty space with decor that is notably better than you'd expect in a mall restaurant. There's a small outdoor patio area facing the Maryland Live Casino that wasn't in use when we were there. The inside entrance is in the mall's food court. They serve beer and wine, and have half-priced sangria for happy hour.
The place is an odd hybrid of counter service and table service. It's 75% table service, so not sure why they don't just do that all the way, which would take away the hint of awkward. You can use bottles of all the hot sauces in case you picked a milder one for your chicken than you wanted. There's a sink and moist towelettes to wash the spice off your fingers afterwards.
Pricing is a little high versus other places serving grilled or rotisserie chicken, but the quality here is much higher, the meat tastier, and the ambiance is pleasant. There was a latin-ish music track playing (but not loud) while we were there on a quiet Monday evening. The pricing falls into an odd (but desirable) niche at $45 (inc tax but not tip) for dinner for two (filling but not huge) and a casual bottle of wine, making for an affordable date, but not a cheap takeaway.
We'll be back. Maybe have a bottle of wine before heading over to MD Live...
