Overview: Little hole in the wall Chinese/Japanese restaurant with a nice selection of dishes. The staff is welcoming and extremely attentive to needs/questions/etc. We've had take-out and dine in from this place and it has been delightful both times.
Food: The food selection they have isn't as extensive as your typical Chinese restaurant, but they make up for it in the variety they have as they combine Japanese dishes on the menu too. Your typical Chinese food isn't nearly as high quality either! The prices for the food seem a bit higher than you would expect ($17 for General Tso), and although questionable, the taste of their food is good. Dumplings are great, so are the noodles. I had somewhat expected better tasting chicken in the Udon, but the rest was really good. First time I've had sushi was at this place and is worth trying for sure, they have a very interesting selection of fish and combinations and all seem worth a go. Sushi is an acquired taste so you'd need to figure out what you like!
Service: Everyone seems to have a smile the whole time and are immediate to assist or help with anything you need, no time is wasted! The staff is patient and willing to address any questions you have quickly.
Atmosphere: While not upscale like a hibachi or high class Chinese place, the booths are nice, comfortable and they also have a bar! There is a selection of Japanese beer and traditional drinks.
Overall, Hunan Pan is a great place for a mix of Japanese or Chinese food that is higher quality than most standard Chinese restaurants with a bit of...
Read moreOrdered online for pick up, asked for 2 sides of spicy mayo and 2 sides of eel sauce. They charged my card without my consent for $7.00 for these small 2oz containers that arent even full half way. When i picked up my food they charged me for 2 of them $3.50 stating that the spicy mayo is $1.50 for not even an oz of the condiment and its $2.00 for eel sauce. I enjoyed coming here and always ordered the same amount of sides and i haven't been charged but for them to charge my card and then try to scam me out of $7.00 for not even 2oz. They lost my business, simple call to confirm if this was somthing i would be approving to be charged would have really made a big difference on feeling like they tried to scam me out of money for next to nothing. Very disappointed in them. Dont use their website to order. They have access to just charging your card at any point after you placed your order as an...
Read moreSince the new Sushi chef has come on board they have taken their theatrics to a new level, but they still rush you when you are eating. Watch next time you are in if you eat at the sushi bar, they will literally throw food at you to increase the size of your bill. Dont even get me started with the drinks. If I tell someone 5xs "No thanks, I am not drinkiong today", do not keep asking and pressuring me to buy...wtf?? It is the only place I know where I can go in and spend $140 and a week later I stop by and they (innocently sounding enough) will ask "do you want to taste " and I think they are giving me a sample and then I get the bill and I have like a $17 dollar charge for something I didnt want and never ordered and it was a sample on a saucer sized tiny plate. They are about making money and rushing you out of the dining room at Hunan Pan...stay away just...
