Misimi - Hibachi. Asian Fusion. Sushi. Bar — Restaurant in Shelton

We had couple dinner on a Saturday night, at this restaurant under new management. We ordered Thai basil Chicken, and Teriyaki Chicken. The Thai Basil Chicken dish was very tasty, and the chicken mushrooms and vegetables had blended with the sauce. The Teriyaki Chicken was a complete disappointment, made incorrectly as happens so often in the local restaurants. The chicken itself was dry sliced pieces, that had never seen the better side of any sauce or marination. This is just so wrong I don't understand why restaurants do this. Actually I do understand, the chefs are lazy. The chicken must be cooked with a sauce. Worse still, it was the most boring Teriyaki sauce I ever tried to taste. First, there was barely any sauce on the plate at all. Second, the sauce was an anemic pale yellow and had no flavor. I decided not to make a scene because it was a special dinner. But I'm conflicted about coming back. I liked the food under the last two owners. ** For logistical reasons we came back the following week to try again with an early dinner. An REO Speedwagon album was playing loudly in an empty restaurant, inappropriate for the vibe and my party of four was not pleased but we did our best to ignore. The sushi was good. I ordered the Udon noodles with beef. The noodles were underdone and therefore hard to chew. I asked to bring home my extras. Strange and awkward experience. It was a Friday at 7:30pm. Four friends and myself came in for some drinks an appetizers.

We ordered drinks right away, which was nice! And, about 10 minutes later we ordered our food (still without drinks). We were patiently waiting for our drinks for about 15+ more minutes and then our food came out. Servers (not our waitress) dropped off the food so quick that we could not inquire about our drinks.

We were sitting in the bar area; while we were eating I was able to see our drinks sitting at the bar. As time passed, I politely walked up to the bar and told the bartender I’m going to take them for my table. He had no problem with it, and even offered to help. It was honestly no big deal until a drunk man sat up from the bar and confronted our table.

He claimed to either be an owner or manager, but I could not understand what he was saying because he was too Intoxicated. We said thank you, smiled, and said everything was ok!

Awkwardly, he continued coming to our table multiple times in a matter of minutes to passively harass us until I approached him to ask if he worked there. He did not give me a clear answer, but I can tell that he must of been some sort of manager because shortly after we were told that we were no longer welcome. It was a horrible experience.

Not sure how this place is still open with the way they operate their business. They scam people so if you dine in you get a normal portion size but if you ever order for take out as my family did TWICE they give you what looks like someone else’s left overs. I was wrong to go back a second time after the first issue. Today I called my order in and the women asked me about my order three times and I clarified multiple times. When I showed up to pick it up I opened the bag because I had a terrible experience last time and it was missing one whole hibachi plate. They had me wait 10 mins to make the additional plate for my order. Once I got home I opened the bag and JUST LIKE LAST TIME what they did was open the one plate and split the salmon and steak to make the second order that they forgot!! I called in and spoke to “bow or Boa” who is apparently the owner and he was very rude and stated that it was pretty much ok they did that because they didn’t charge me for the plate that they forgot initially!! He then proceeded to text me rudely after I sent photos of the order telling to come pick up my money and to never return there again as if I would ever!
